I do remember being part of a big parade at Wigram to welcome the first Airtrainer ....that comment really dates me , because at that time we still had Daks, Devons ,and Harvards and the Bristols as I recall....

The Last Ex RNZAF Aeromotive Kingair Departed Hamilton Yesterday, Just in time for them to start parking up some Airtrainers.

The Red Arrows have survived since the mid 1960s when they replaced the name from the Yellow Jackets when flying the training colours of the Gnats used back then - when the CT-4 were painted yellow and black , one off there first displays I was speaking to an ex-RNZAF Harvard serviceman/pilot , said the should have been renamed the 'Flying Bumble Bee' he quite agreed .... personally still with the Red and Blue roundel I think the aircraft should be still called the Red Checkers and have on those specific aircraft a red, white and blue stripe along the fuselage as with the 75th anniversary and keep the name.

That would look very smart on the new black scheme, again keep the name the Red Checkers and board on the nose just in respect to the history.
