You heard Correct... they have formally asked for pricing although it doesn't mean they will get them.., if they do, at the asking price I don't they would get many and they would need something smaller as well I would of thought. They better hurry up as there is only a few left ...

Not unheard off, production lines re-opened due to demand , Boeing 717/720/KC-135 was a good example, another example off the OH BUGGER wish we had not closed the line down was the Lockheed C-141 Starlifter or to expand on it, the next and cheapest choice was the stretched B .. then C and final D and only for the glass cockpit.

Not so funny, next we will see the type operated by HEAVY-LIFT 20 years down the track ... maybe lengthen the fuselage as they did with the C-141 which added almost another 120/30 aircraft to the fleet so we might see something like that in the future.

They will only have the budget to fly them every second or third month

Sound a little like the local Councils rolleyes.gif , I guess maybe the could start a for hire scheme.... do the numbers , no limitations to what they can carry and with the sturdy short field ability would be an extra bonus.

One dose have to wonder the logic ... or least try to figure out what is in the brain cases of the politicians ... as one well known flyer put it, we have become "the scabs of the Pacific" , look at Australia couple new aircraft carriers , least ideal for littoral warfare, ski ramp equipped getting added to the fleet shortly ... the good ole NZ well what can you say rolleyes.gif
