I don't need a lawn mower ... I was the Brilliant Smart Ass and layered all it in concrete LOVELY! smile.gif

Owned and lived in my place now going eighteen years now, up to a year back I payed to have the lawn cut at a my cost, the Council lawn and their responsibility , but in pride looked after it , lawn mower man got serious sick, the job was handed to another from the franchise and a less than 4/5 minute job decide to double the price .. that bloke was a right knob, heard later everyone who was Gary,s regular customers complained about the dipstick.

I told him to stick up his JACKSIE and really told where to really go, Truk him ! off to the Council , there job, on the phone: One silly bat I got kept on repeating saying "its all in the big green dollar" after explaining the circumstances - that was 2 months in .... well I got friggen sick off this, phoned again after two/three months, ... said hey look , Ive payed for the last seventeen year to get your lawn mowed ..... this other stupid women replied ... "That was your own stupid fault!" - (I come to the conclusion these telephone operators are not to bright) sleep1.gif ... I was very much thinking then off pouring diesel at this stage, kill the lawn .. but I could see the possible chance off people catching fire outside .... biggrin.gif

AH HA
idea.gif TradeMe .. I was hooked in and cooking had seconds to buy a cheap push mower - not petrol - Why dose an auction continue after a closing time : auction was to close at 1.52 today but continued to 1.57 and the price doubled ... Is this the norm TradeMe works , the auction ran past the finish time .... before I start pouring diesel on TradeMe ..

THE AH HA - QUESTION : is this a standard practice ?

TradeMe has a 2 minute extension each time a bid is placed so it quite often happens at the closing time someone places a bid less than 2 minutes from closing time so it is extended another 2 minutes from the time that bet goes on and will continue to extend another 2 minutes each time a bid goes on but once bidding stops it will close 2 minutes after the last bid was placed.

Thanks for the heads up Doug, I wonder if this was deliberately done because the price doubled really quick, I would have kept going but missed a 'click' the other buyer only arrived this morning - Government lawn mowing spies - I'd better get Nick Hager on the case unsure.gif

A lot of trademe auctions go this way, and really when you think about it, a last-minute bid is likely to rule out a lot of bidders who can't be there at the exact time, and therefore keep the final price low. A good solution is an auto-bid -- just decide the maximum you'd pay, and enter it as an auto-bid. Trademe will bid for you, up to that limit. It scares off a lot of casual bidders, when their bids are instantly hammered each time.

But once again, an auto-bid works best later rather than sooner.

Maybe worth just simply hooking into buying this machine ..... put wing mirrors and sorts added to it , http://www.trademe.co.nz/home-living/outdo...n-813425170.htm

Well with my new acquisition, meaning Marty giving me a lawn mower, well it had me beat - twas required the up to council "to knock the top off the barstard" .. yesterday morning a knock on the door and it was Tay from down the back, asking to check out this wonderful piece of machinery.

After twenty minutes .. It Was OH Truck this .. was his words .. I need to get me gumboots, take this top off and .... well did not hear back from him for least 30 minutes ... this guy is big and strong, sorta All Black material ... I heard later it was .. From Shirley - "No wonder Ian could not do it , friggen lawn just about killed Tay" biggrin.gif

Obviously a bitta green was not going to stop this guy, .... it then became entertaining for the locals walking past all with big smiles finally to see the lawn return to its former self .... in the end it was a Tag team , Tay hooking into it for starters , Cory from down the back also wanted a go ..... the embarrassing part was Shirley now also wanted a go at it -

funny part at this stage Laga, Shirley's dad had stopped to check the works .... now four guys standing around while Shirley was cutting/mowing the lawn, quite a few couples walked past and I could not help to say, this must be entertaining - the four off us watching the lady cut the grass , what a team effort laugh.gif ..... In the end I was cleaning up ... no point having a catcher yet.

This morning out there bright and fresh simply to get the bit of CCC lawn looking closer to it being manicured .... So SUPER THANX MARTY , you made the entire street happy! smile.gif

Marty .. Its just proud to have it looking real again .. away from the CCC telephone reply's "It's all the big green dollar, " repeated numerous times blink.gif and other remark after mentioning Ive payed to get it done for the last 17 years " That's your own stupid fault " that really made me think were is the can of gasoline ! ... good thing is , it now really looks great !
