Can you imagine a squadron of these bad SOBs coming right at you? I don't think you can have more fear than that! Such mean looking machines! The great thing is that at the airport where I do my flighttraining, the Polish Air Force has a servicepoint for these badboys. So they do testflights quite often, most of the time they fly the Mi-8/17's around, but occasionally they bring out the big guns with the Hind. Such an awesome sight! Especially when doing the pre-flight check on your small P2002 winkyy.gif

Oh it's freaking awesome! They always fly a normal approach like the airplanes do, but keep hovering about 10m high over the runway until they make a left turn towards the maintenance hangars. The apron my flightschool uses, is about 400m away from the runway, so they get pretty close! The roar they make is so badass! And sometimes they fly circles around and above the airport to test the handling by making sharp turns etc. it's almost an airshow!

Well, from what I hear from my Navy, is that the NH-90 doesn't like salty environments. They bought helicopters for use at sea that are heavily affected by rust, I don't think that's a really good thing! Maybe they got rid of the Lynx too soon winkyy.gif

I think they will get that sorted, obviously should already had been in the minds off the chiefs running around buying them for here, it still is a new aircraft , they did say they had problems with the Sprites and they are, well the design is well over fifty years old and specifically designed for ship board operations so one has to question how come these problems returned on near brand new airframes.

Haha I can make it a whole lot worse! winkyy.gif You see, there are three (!) air force base's around the city here, one of them has American F-16 stationed there (so you have a real problem if you come close there without permission) one helicopter base and one maintenance base. In the weekends, those two usually allow you to do low passes there, so that's even more cool! And they don't have hangars on the helicopter base, so they store all of their toys outside and next to the runway biggrin.gif
