Yes, I think that Bruce put our minds at rest about whether the theme will work out...
...and then there's Ian's shot, which is brighter than most daylight shots.

"Bruce put our minds at rest " he did indeed Rob , i didn't mean to be negative .

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Thanks. I just made an edit to add a link to the full-size version of this shot. I'm actually really happy with it. I don't think I've ever tried taking a night shot before. Good luck in the contest!

Here's the only night shot I ever took, that I could see properly afterward!
It's either just landed, or about to take off, and it's not quite night yet, may even be somewhere in NZ... cool.gif

It's a C337

Aww come on Doug, 6 minutes after leaving the runway, barely time to get the gear up.... smile.gif

02:16 Argosy SAE takes off from Christchurch and is almost immediately joined by a large orange-ish light which is filmed and eventually causes world-wide controversy. "Affirmative. I have a strong target at 12 o'clock to you... "Geoff Causer Wellington Airport radar operator.

02:23: Targets near the Kaikoura peninsula show on radar both in Wellington and on board the aircraft. A variety of unexplained lights and radar returns accompany the aircraft throughout its return flight until the lights of Blenheim come into view
