Z97 New Build moving FSX to its own Hdd

Could someone give a blow by blow account of how to move FSX to its own HDD.

System new Asus Z97Delux build. Intel I7-4790K with Cooler and Memory 16GB.
Windows 7 64bit OS loaded to its own "C" HDD. This drive is working perfectly and is not partitioned for FSX and their is no FSX on the "C" HDD. Note: Drive "C" is only intended for the Windows 7 64 bit OS and no other programs.
New WD 10000rpm HDD fitted recognised as "F" Drive ready to have FSX Deluxe disc 1 and disc 2 to be loaded.

From now on its HELP Please.

This is my problem how do you get the FSX discs to load when they are placed in the CD DVD drive start the install ok, and I nominate that FSX is to go to HDD "F" but it comes back saying ""You cannot install to the root of a drive""
Yes I have no folders or user folder, document or program folders under that "F" Drive.
But
I tried to follow some web advice on how to copy my "C" user folders and load these folders from my "C" HDD to the "F" HDD but still FSX wont take . It still comes back with "You cannot install to the root of a drive"
I must be missing some steps.

All this has come about by going from a Vista32 bit OEM OS with a Dual Boot Retail Windows 7 64 bit with FSX as a test bed before I jumped into a whole new build. Interesting enough I could not move or run my OS W7 64bit FSX HDD to my new build. It did not like it.
Hence having to start allover again and load FSX a new . Pleased I have all the discs etc.

So if any one can help me that would be real choice as the hole is getting bigger.

Ashlee, Common problem, leave the FSX boot disk (setup) in the PC , turn the PC off for maybe 10 minutes - new so won't need to clear the cache or all the other funky things.

Restart, explore the DVD , then find the execute file and run , be very careful off exactly were you want it or simply jumps back to the same problem - good thing is this same trick can be repeated.

Would you just clarify the following for me
On starting the PC.
1.OS starts into Welcome etc.
2.Load CD with fsx disc 1.
3.select nominated HDD
4.Does nominated Hdd need any folders under it ??
5.Turn off PC and wait 10 mins as suggested is this the correct direction as i am not sure?????

I would create a folder on the designated/nominated drive called FSX or FlightSim or similar & install into that folder.

Hi Rocky Thanks its loading now ,i was being a little impatient as it took some time in a stalled mode before i saw files flashing on screen.
Its now with a blank screen and no activity of the HDD or the DVD drive and no advice what to do next.
Is it possible that its waiting on fsx Cd 2 ????????

It should come up with a on screen prompt when its ready for the next disc.

Update: many thankyou's to Ian and Rocky It was so simple to load.
The big question of the black screen and no activity or advice was a puzzle, but i took a gamble and removed the FSX CD 1 and installed the FSX Cd 2 and away it loaded.
Now all good and registered and going threw the updates now.

Wowwww so stoked with my new build. I had lost interest in FSX and had put it all on the shelf as I couldn't get it to be stable in Win7 64 bit. Now with the Z97 and intel I7 4970k its magic and its running no shakes on Auckland scenery in AMD eyfinity 3 screens and one extra for Gplan on satellite.
Intend to fire up the fifth screen for other facilities.The i7 is not overclocked but has an aircooler all running in a big case. CPU running at 4.2 to 4.4 at 50degrees max all cores, HD6970 running at 98% activity with 4 active screens Temp 68degrees fan on manual at 66%.
Now with the confidence returned a subscription with TopRob is in order and a trial of PD3 needs to be looked into after my local scenery library is added to and brought up to date.
Thanks to all of you that have given me help in setting up the FSX seperate folder with its own fast HDD that is a must, and the separate operating system on its own HDD. Yes it did cost but the results were worth it. I love flying with my scenery
