I do love the use off the ole style bridals .. I was impress so much .. don't think the Charles de Gaulle has any sort off catcher .. Wounder if the French would bring there Nuclear Carrier to our shores for us to check out cool.gif

Would love to see it! Although I have been on one carrier, the USS Interpid, which lays in New York and serves as a museum now. I don't recommend to stay on the deck for too long in the summer though winkyy.gif Get's quite hot up there!

These are all great shots...I can't help but wonder if they are all actually at night> 1/2 hour after the end of civil twilight...

not to be picky....but to be true to the theme of the comp...shots should be at a time during the period between the end of dusk and the beginning of dawn... looks like I'll have to change mine as well huh.gif

Rick, That is a good point, I did see this ... It did give people artistic license but still answer to the higher above, people s idea off a Nighttime ... I would go with your own idea and theme and beat the bloody pant's off em winkyy.gif

The main purpose of the theme for each months comp is to give you guys something to work on and see who can use the theme to their best advantage and come up with the best scenario for that particular theme to create a good screenshot.

I know a lot deviate from the theme each month which is a little disappointing but I am not going to insist that it be adhered to exactly.

If members where to think of the theme and vote for the best screen shot that fits that months theme then maybe we wouldn't have so many deviating from the theme each month.

Well done Rick for considering the rules
Perhaps a reminder from Doug come voting time?

This month's theme "NIGHT LANDING or TAKE OFF" I don't see anything in there about evening twilight or dawn but if you can capture a night image with good full moon you should have enough light to show up your aircraft and airport.

This is a situation where MSFS does not help. At night in the sim, you can still see colours on the terrain. IRL, from 6000' on a moonless night all you can see is a big black patch with pinpoints of light here and there - that's the land; the other big black patch is the ocean. I abandoned one idea using a newly-risen full moon, because looking West, it was clear the sunset was a couple of hours away, when in fact at full moon, moonrise and sunset happen at the same time. Rick is correct in his definition of night, but a heavy overcast can make nonsense of the "legal" rule. How many people do you see driving around in the dark with no lights on, because "it isn't sunset yet, not for another twenty minutes."
When I am voting, my first check is 'Does it fit the Theme?'
And I apologise for replying here, because there is a separate thread for discussing the screenshot comp rules. Doug is very fair in administering that, comments are allowed, but anything approaching a discussion should be elsewhere.
EDIT: Doug got in while I was still typing wink.gif

Well definition taxing to takeoff or landing after "NIGHT LANDING or TAKE OFF" is part, whether in the air ... that is part off flight.
