That way you never get tangled in the "permissions" argument apparently.
Quite right - especially with Windows 8 and therefore likely for windows 10

Will i be able to continue using FS9 on Windows 10? Also i notice that FS9 is currently loaded in Program Files [x86] & as i have 64 bit should the FS9 program be moved to Program Files?
My thanks to all for your replies. I have successfully moved FS9 into "C" drive. I see i have one year from Windows 10 release in which to take up the offer.

I am hoping they fixed it after I gave up trying, not sure how it will run on FS9 given it is geared more for 64bit systems. I Would suggest just giving it a try but backup first...
Yes, the same happened with windows 8 but it was fine when the final version was released![]()

I couldn't measure it as I was too impatient! - it was windows 8 preview - not the final version.Ian Warren wrote:QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Jan 28 2015,10:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>What do you think Greg , .. I think we will get Rick to whiz through these technical issues

Impatience has no part in testing. 0.2 was what I was getting with FSX on ORBX global (The only addon installed) in the trike over Friday Harbour... Now I would suspect they resolved this but after several weeks I gave up. Win 10 ships with DX12 and is heavily geared for 64bit running. FSX is 32bit only, uses 2 processor cores and shipped with DX10 PREVIEW mode. Generally all round it screams incompatible but I would be happy to test it on the public release if anyone would be interestedLast edited by omitchell on Fri Jan 30, 2015 1:12 am, edited 1 time in total.

Its like many of the machine addons I have here do not work with Win7 hence the reason still use XP , I was in my ole work place again today to help with setups and get machines running and Craig pointed out to me this DINOSAUR ... and it was still working fine, only used for machine coding, that PC was thirty plus years old.Last edited by Ian Warren on Fri Jan 30, 2015 4:09 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Yeah, I have a couple of XP machines around in case of emergency but although some things didn't work in 7/8 I found reasonable substitutes so have never gone back to them.![]()
