Cave move

Postby Splitpin » Mon Mar 09, 2015 5:50 pm

:sleepy: Ive spent most of the day moving my cave to yet another room ... due to changing flatmates, Im stuffed .
In doing so (for the last time) i have unearthed some items that may be of interest to the group.
Some fire service shoulder badges , from NZ , Melbourne , City of Toronto, and Wapello county in Iwoa.
A set of Wing Commanders rank slides (Jersey , blue , for use on) , a brevet with the letter "S" on it , and another with "N" ...obviously, signaller and navigator. The nav one is on a lighter blue background , which indicates RAAF. (RNZAF and RAF were always on black)
A tiny gold A-4 tie pin , and last but not least , a C.G Computer for a Lincoln MK.2 (a slide rule type thing) ... its like new , no case , but like new.
I remember finding it at a garage sale about 15 years ago , i got it, and one for a PV-1 (in its original leather case) that should be here in the quake rubble some place.
I may give the Lincoln one to the museum (RNZAF) if nobody is interested.

Bits and pieces of years and years of collecting , some of which is still coming to light.... and maybe too your collections benefit.

Let me know what you may want , its all free, ....and i have just found 2 more boxes of stuff I'd forgotten about .....

Tell me about it ... im now in the smallest room in this place ( not the toilet , but close) I've moved half the library over to my poor old mums place .... ahh well , such is life.
May not be here much longer anyway , did i tell you the owner has bought the place next door as well.... so , Im thinking knock down the both of them and build apartments .... its what i would do.
I've been renting this place for the last 10 years or so , sold my share of the the other one in town ... bad move , but you live and learn.
Right , enough of this ..... i have be up at 0500 in the morning , I'm going to meet NZ94 .... which is always early.
Re the Lincoln thing .... good idea .

Id be very surprised if they still had one in such condition, but you don't know, they may have stacks of the, the thing is also I'm not sure how a C.G Computer for a Lincoln MK.2 (a slide rule type thing) compares to a Tiger force Lancaster which when modified was considered on slightly lessor to the early Lincolns.

Just went thru that list again, the Ventura flight computer would interest me B-) ... and interest sake, I would maybe like to look at the Lincoln slide rule.
