ANZNZNZACs

Postby steelsporran » Thu Apr 16, 2015 2:22 pm

These particular aircraft most likely were all flown by Kiwis.
The Wanganui SE5 was donated to the RFC with the stipulation that it be flown "preferably in the hands of a New Zealand pilot".
Of the Camels, N6377 was flown by Harold Beamish DSC, 3 Sqn RNAS born Havelock North. http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/nzealand/beamish.php
B7406 was flown by Herbert Watson DFC, 4Sqn AFC born Dunedin. http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/nzealand/watson2.php

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'
