You could be right, There was a Strike master as it landed at Welly. But it was a very unusual sound, It was quiet for a jet going full tit :radar:

If it was the 167 he'd be saving the gas and his engine , a quiet climb-out heading home I'd guess.

It could have been the Venom as it was displayed at Omaka with the Strike Master

That is another possible, a Vampire has a defined whistle with the Goblin were as the Ghost on the Venom would equal the 167s Viper.

There is not much in the Jet range in NZ sadly, I would say its either one of those aircraft I thinking heading up Auckland way, I know there is a L39 and a Vampire in New Plymouth but it was not on track out that way.

Honestly, not even sure were it was based , - Ardmore I'm guessing , could be North-shore, that was a real teaser, a mini sized Mustang.

I did 3 from distance , but they went around the city in singletons and happened to stop around the corner from me month back.

All White Huey, I did not know there was a red strike master, I wanted to know are any you guys from Ardmore area. There appears to be a Sabre jet and a ex RNZAF Air Mach I have seen anyone know if they are going to fly again or just display
