Bugger I had the Catalina all set up for this months comp but before I cold post nzkingair beat me to it so I changed from the one Catalina flying into the setting Sun to two aircraft the WW 1 Airco D.H.2 and Sopwith Camel

Another one that has a lot off thought into it, ... This month is real Special to Australia and New Zealand and the best thing , is just having so many world wide asking what the day means or get an understanding or want to learn more about it, that is respect and so cool.

That is one thing played on TV3 news last night and be for the rest of week clips and stories from Gallipoli , it showed the terrain very well , I did like how Sir Peter Jackson explained WWI in colour.

Looks great Carlos, one of the biggest Tiger Moth bases was Ashburton airfeild fifty mile sooth of Christchurch during WWII, it expanded in 1941/2 used for primary training before cadets moved up to Wigram to further there training on Harvards and others training on the Oxford.

Avro Lancaster over the Mountains. I thought this would be a fitting aircraft for this theme due to both New Zealand and Australia having crews flying this great aircraft.

As I'm from Germany, ANZAC day isn't this well known over here - so many other things to remember concerning our German history. But I'd like to tell you a story about Gallipoli.
There's a Power Metal band from Sweden, called Sabaton. They write songs about war and so "Cliffs of Gallipoli" deals with the infamous battle where so many soldiers lost their lives.

I was at the concert some years ago and they played this song. The singer Joakim wanted everybody to sing along at the beginning and so did the crowd, every single note was just hit perfectly. And in this indescribable moment (which basically lasted until the song was over), the atmosphere was kind of magic and it was like every person in the hall thought of the fallen soldiers on both sides.

So when I hear of ANZAC day, I remember this experience I had some years back at the concert.

Brilliant Frank, I do like, you let us all know it remembered by all sides, ... that dose go both ways ... admiration for the standard Soldier, Naval seamen and Airman from both World Wars what ever country they were from
