A 707 at Hamilton .... but as Owen said , you can land anything , anywhere ... but ..... <_<

That first screen ... that is so close to Christchurch 1973/4 .. there was another parking spot those many years ago .. course now sealed off , but that screen is like a walk back in time , so very cool :)

No i didnt big O .... mains hit about half way down , and with no co-pilot , almost impossible to reconfigure (in time ) for a go around ...which would have been the same anyway.
That thing (707) is very hard to slow down if you get wrong too close :unsure:

BTW; Love your 76 into Westport .... did you make it ?

I did a check, before 1963 the Christchurch 02/20rwy was just a little longer by a few meters the Hamilton , they extended again in that year another 427 meters to have that backup for the first QANTAS 707 flight into Christchurch in 1965 , The USAF flew C-135A into CHCH in 1963 , tho a little smaller it is very feasible to get a 707 in Hamilton, course Johnny's is a -138 so would not be a problem.
