Neighbours At War....

Postby Fozzer » Fri Jul 03, 2015 7:10 am

My daily dose of "CBS Reality" on my TV contains the New Zealand; "Neighbours at War" series, narrated by Bill Kerton.

http://www.cbsreality.tv/uk/shows.php?t ... urs+At+War

It confirms my suspicions that neighbours should live at least 10 miles apart from each other, (preferably more!).

If you want to move into a new house, flat, wooden shed, etc, first make sure that you have no-one living close to you, (10 miles away, or more).

It is a fact that people do not like each other, and the neighbours will always involve themselves in doing things that you do not like.

They do not like you, and you do not like them....it is a universal fact.

Their many dogs will bark both day and night; they will have many annoying children and teenagers; they grow big trees; they collect rubbish; they will park their cars in your driveway; they will paint Maori graffiti on every blank space available, including your garden fence; the females will grow increasingly fatter by the minute, wave their arms about and shout a lot; they probably smell, and no-one will take any notice of your complaints, either the Council or the Police....

..and your life will be a misery for as long as you have a neighbour....

Do not have a; "Neighbour"....

Heed my warning.

Here endeth the First Lesson!... :( ...!

Paul.... .... ......!

P.S....Is New Zealand too close to Australia?... ...!

The Dominion Post agrees with you this morning.

I've never had neighbour troubles, although I have been an owner of a barky dog, which made me the bad guy, I guess. But since moving into 'town', even though it is still pretty rural, I do notice the noisy neighbours now. On one side the section bends around the back of our place, so it always sounds like there's someone right outside the window -- freaks me out, especially at the moment, when both sides are in the middle of rowdy earthquakes repairs.

Three and a half years ago, I and we, the street did not have neighbour problems , what dose the corrections department and a godboy charity trust do put murderers thugs and gang members, rotated every 4 months or so ... but for two years the entire neighbourhood was under siege , threatening people and me almost every day , robbery , home invasion ... this area is not the "Otara" or the CHCHs "Hampshire St" type area.

Even after the first one moved in I had a meeting here with this twit from the pathway trust CHCH , so you don't believe in giving someone another chance , I said "well they obviously pulled wool over your eyes" because in the three weeks there were parties all the way thru the morning , threatened every second day , The fix I called the New Zealand Police Dept nearly every second day , i considered a rude gesture as a threat , the small street almost looked like the Police central carpark , I was sending "C-trust" Very rude letters with Police complaint no.s ....

Just going 18 months now .. YES .. we won the War , today its like nothing happened :)

Know how that feels Ian. With our previous house which was rural, all was quiet for the first 12 months until the owner was released from prison. He maintained a low profile for a while but then the parties started with the loud music and drugs. Cops were great and eventually sorted it.
Our current place is down a long private road, the nearest neighbours are 300 odd metres away and now the Auckland Council have finally put back the "Private Road" sign they took down when they took over I can ask any one who drives down to get off my land :D
Was also handy having a retired police dog as a pet but unfortunately he's passed away.

The one thing that I prize more than anything else is;..Peace and Quiet!

I like to stand in my back garden and listen intently....

...and all I can hear is the occasional chirp from the garden birds.

Otherwise, total silence all around me, even though I live in the middle of a big housing estate!

Peace and quiet is like gold dust!

..its lovely!... ...!

Paul...Shhhhh..... :D ...!

Ian....I find that "doing things" just wears me out now...

I used to do all sorts of things, years ago, but now I just wait for other folks to do things for me....

..like mow the grass, trim the trees, do the dusting, fix my motorbike, pour me another cup of tea, etc, etc... ...!

Its mostly eat, drink, and sleep, now... :D ...!

Paul....dreaming of eating at the moment.... :sleepy: ....!

I suffered 5 years of Hell from my next-door neighbour with his flock of bloody Parakeets in an open mesh aviary at the bottom of his garden.

The daily din was crucifying, and added years to my life!

It only stopped when import restrictions of exotic birds came about, and he had to dismantle the aviary!

The memory of the years of bedlam still haunts me today.

Noisy neighbours and their bloody animals, birds, etc, are a curse!

Paul.....I like Tortoises...they are very quiet and peaceful... :D ...!

Fortunately we don't naturally suffer from wild, annoying, screeching, exotic birds, like Parakeets, Parrots, etc!

Our little garden Sparrows just quietly "cheep" now and again.... :D ....

..and the Blackbirds, Thrushes, Magpies, Pigeons, Finches, Tits, Robins, and Wrens are mostly quiet, just waiting to be fed with tit-bits!

I can hear the Garden Sparrows outside now!

Its nice and quiet...(I suspect that the neighbours have all killed each other!)....

Paul.... :D ...!

Tell ya one thing, they sure as hell better than some suppose human beings .....

I really enjoyed a very large Avery they have in Wagga Wagga .. all those above but the annoying human beings .. delete them - most happy , but to be caught in a whirlwind off birds ... was a 'huge Avery' so maybe your feathered neighbour were complaining on the size off there quarters.
