With all the light-hearted banter, I'm still missing an answer to my genuine question: are we including Samoa, Tonga, Fiji etc.? Seeing as the theme says OUTER islands.

Pulled out the atlas ... Niue and all the Cook Islands are in the New Zealand Oceania Political under - guess NZ , Fiji Samoa and Tonga are or appear to be independent states .. this is not goggle or dikipedia.

Thanks, Ian. I think we need to Tokelau to that list, giving us:

Niue
Tokelau

Cook Islands - including:
Nga-pu-Toru ("Three Roots", the eastern islands):
Atiu (Enua Manu or Island of Birds)
Ma'uke (Akatokamanava)
Mitiaro (Nukuroa)
Takutea
Manihiki (Te Fuinga o Niva)
Nassau (Te Nuku o Ngalewu)
Penrhyn Island (Tongareva or Mangarongaro)
Pukapuka (Te Ulu o te Watu)
Rakahanga (Tapuahua)
Suwarrow also called Suvorov
Tema Reef (submerged)
Aitutaki (Araura Enua)
Mangaia (Auau Enua)
Rarotonga (Tumutevarovaro)
Palmerston Island (Pamati)
Manuae

Oh what fun!

Adam , they all appear to be a New Zealand concern , so without a doubt , all there under NZ politics and within the realm, the atlas was published 2005 . " I think we need to Tokelau to that list " , that is also confirmed , Niue is under NZ politics .

Thanks Dave
If you all look at the In harbours and the open sea there are approx 130 NZ islands not including North and South Island get any one of those in your shot and you could be in the money at the end of the month

That's great - but the bit that confused me was the word OUTER in the theme. When I read that, I presumed that would exclude the harbour-type islands. So ... I'm still not sure whether Waiheke Island - or Rangitoto (for instance) qualify.

Confused? That's me!

Air Chathams flying over Chatham Island in the early morning. Man, REX Soft Clouds can produce some amazing volumetric stratus clouds in FSX. I really recommend it! (it was a fantastic deal for just $5  )

Catalina over French Pass a small strip of water running between the mainland on the right and D'Urville Island on the left in the outer Marlborough Sounds.
Small ships trading from Nelson to Wellington and the East Coast use this pass as a short cut saving them many hours off the time of sailing right around D'Urville Island.
