Over 200 views now , and 6 watching ...no doubt waiting for the price to drop , which it wont . 4k is a give away for that car even with the faults .
At that price Im out of pocket to the tune of about 3k..... it was an expensive mistake , but Im not moving on the price.

That's the way to go , but at that cost, you get a 'true blue die hard BMW man' will scoop it up well before the end off the auction!

Splitpin

I've owned 2 BMWs in the past and have a few friends with similar age models. Are you sure you want to sell? I do understand the stress but you never know for sure that what you'll replace it with won't have its own problems?

I had an airbag light come on and it's "usually" the sensor in the seat. Not a big fix but just a fiddle and you may have just knocked it out when moving the seat. The display is also a known and not expensive problem.

These 5's are great cars and will last forever if we'll. looked after. I'm afraid a lot of the imports just haven't been and they are expensive to get right but it looks like you're halfway there.

Just a few thoughts to ponder.

All the best

Completely understand if you decide to sell....

Both of my BMW's, a 325i and 545i, weren't cheap to look after or as reliable as I thought they should be! But being in Europe I understand they're cheaper to maintain than in NZ. The two problems you mentioned I have had some direct and indirect experience of and they are painful but perhaps not deal breakers.

A friend has a 325i in Wellington and he's had a lot of issues (ex Japan) but at the end of the day he knows exactly what he's got and in some places it's better than a new car now!

For a 525 thats not a steal, it's practically a hijacking. Gorgeous model of BMW, comfy, spacious, drives well, reliable, only down side is it costs a lung, a kidney and your left testicle when it comes to repairs, but one of their best models, only really beaten by the 7 series.... The black leather is a kicker, that model normally came with the beige leather (Which I actually preferred) so to get a non standard interior on top is just a bonus...

 Jeez now i do feel bad . Obviously the interest level was due the price .
I found out today that a reset (if thats all it needs) will only be $40 ... a wof is $50 , take the rego off hold and shes away. So , its booked in for a scan on thursday.
Problem is ....Im going to piss a lot of people off if i withdraw the ad on TM ..... and relist it later all ready to go , and for a little more.

Thanks J Im going to pull the ad ..... the whole thing has become sentimental all of a sudden . My mum loves it ... the old man loved it , and i would hate to think it ended with some boy racer type.
I'll know more on thursday after the scan , but either way .... not for sale..... I'll sort the bills later.
