I believe most ORBX scenery is steam edition compatible. I have a bunch of ORBX stuff installed happily in my FSX SE.

You might want to check for updates from ORBX FTX in case they've provided a newer installer than what you have now.

I've no idea whether you could copy files from one FSX installation to another.

You can and I have done it in the past as I don't particularly like the install conventions ORBX employs. It was also useful having the installed files on hand while testing various simpit set ups rather than installing each time. You have to ensure all the files are copied to the appropriate scenery folders or you will have unexpected/undesirable results.

This is correct. As long as you had a full uninstall of FSX Boxed (Or if it was a clean system) then FSX Steam should have standard install paths. ORBX Scenery will find the files it needs and install as normal.

Yes, it works fine with no problems - as long as there is no remnant of any previous FSX installs left in the registry - even then you can still do it but you will need to edit the FSX registry entries to point to the locations of the FSXse installation. Of course editing the registry is not without its risks so it might be best avoided if you're not confident.

Editing the registry was the way that I was able to install Orbx scenery into FSXse while still retaining me regular FSX installation. It's a bit of a pain but it can be done.
