Flags

According to this, your new flag options have been finalized. Sounds like there will be a vote from the four pictured in a couple months, followed by a vote competing with the current flag in 2016.
Any preferences?

The current one. We already voted once not to change it... This change is being forced on us against the last referendum...

Hey Sean. Yeah as you can imagine it's all over the news here, from my experience pretty much no one is particularly interested in change, most folks seem to be seeing it as a distraction engineered by the Prime Minister, and of the designs being floated there's broad criticism of their lack of creativity and appeal. I'd bet a copy of P3D as a screenshot prize that the whole thing will fall flat by the time of the second referendum and that we'll stick with the current flag.

It is to distract people from the real crime of the PM signing us up to the TPPA, a deal that we cannot afford to get into, there is no way out of and we gain nothing from.

Again evening before a flag change , the country needs/has to become independent ... you get a twit PM that can't recall anything , makes a storm in a teacup , Flag changing comes with once we have moved away from Union Jack laws and rules ... once settled then change the flag ... Not for some ponced up twit who wants historical notoriety.

I'd rather have a flag debate/discussion than face the U.S. political situation right now. I suspect I know who the two nominees will be (hint: the loudest of either party) and I don't like either, so seeing a referendum for a potential new flag caught my eye. I'd say ideally keep the current one, though if a new one "must" be adopted, go for the upper left option (red white and blue with the fern and stars).

I'm for a new flag for various reasons.....the fern/star one with blue/black is my favorite....although I would rather see the black and blue swapped over

One thing that strikes me is "new flag for various reasons" again this is an open forum but its not .... truly , 'various reasons' is a debate ... and here comes 'Frank' again , ....

Before a flag change , New Zealand needs to dump rules and the laws off old , strangely the country has a history with doing that very thing off putting the first step forward and or beating against the odds ... "Hell's Bell's" you don't have to be a tulip .. where did Zeeland come from .. I'm not Dutch but I say learn your history , So so simple the people around you are people ... JohnK is a reputation hungry twit who wants the extras ... It dose not help anyone , once done, they simply get up and walk away.

Whatever ....I'm all for it ..become a Republic....dump the Queen.

Anyhow I want the flag changed ...that's my opinion ...I was just voicing what my favored design is...other people have other opinions that is fine. That's what the referendum is for. It is interesting to note that the main opposition had a flag change as their policy too they just didn't get it underway when they were in power.

...and an example of the glib, throw-away comments which obfuscate an issue like this. There are lots of reasons why people may or may not want a new flag, but dismissing everyone who does as 'a lack of understanding' on their part doesn't really add anything.
