On that particular flight I was training a captain who had come across to the 767 from the Airbus (he saw the light).
Great guy and very handy with his hands. He built his own Falco aircraft.
His website is here. Scratch built.
He even disassembled it, put it into a container, and then shipped it to LA (5mm to spare fitting it in the container). There he reassembled it and flew it across the States to Oshkosh. He was going to sell it there but decided against it and flew it back to LA and repeated the same exercise with the container to ship it back to NZ.
The aircraft resides in his hangar at Parakai Airfield.

After years of DIY hacking I think I may be tempted by his recommendation for the Triton Workcentre.
I bought my first Multitool last month, after seeing what the kitchen installer chappy did with it.
You battle along without things, and then you wonder how you managed without them for all those years...

I would love to see the real 767 in the new livery. I think it would really suit it.
The winglet mod has returned about a 6% reduction in fuel burn. Better than the what was promised by Boeing.

Do you know the reason why they haven't been repainted yet? I was thinking perhaps they were painted recently but you can still see where the pacific wave was peeled(?) off so not sure.

Come to think of it, what AC have bee repainted? A320s, prop fleet, B77Ws

No I still dont like it but I think that of all the aircraft types the 767 would suit it the best.
As they only have a year or two left it is not worth the cost of repainting them.
The black (nosed) aircraft have issues as the lead in guidance system on the gates cannot register with the black paint. They have to be marshaled onto the gate.

That is something I did not know , you also get this from 'towerguy' Craig who mention the problem with spotting the aircraft from the tower at night, seems to be a lot off NOT thought out things regard to the livery.

I have a question though.. why would an A320 pilot move from A320 to the 767 when retirement for that aircraft must be looming by now? So he/she can move to 787 eventually? I'm surprised at the move considering how strong the A320 fleet is now with ANZ.

I thought that myself , I instantly thought the transition with a yoke rather the sidestick controller if moving onto a preferred Boeing would be the ideal training tool, ...we will have to see the reply .

Position opened up on the 767? eg someone retired? Just a guess...I don't know how airlines work...CP?

More money for starters. Also the increasing amount of domestic flying on the A320 is not everybody's cup of tea. Sometimes just a change of office.
