I suspect that once you install FTX Central, it takes over control of all the Orbx products, so you might have to turn it on there.

Just as a thought , the ORBX switch's are not as stable even if the program installed properly , I have had many problems in this area , I simply navigated around them and continued form there .

Was that a fresh install off the ORBX scenery ? .. If so , un-install ... try' Add and Remove Program. , or search anything ORBX related and delete, to been double sure go to 'Accessories' - 'Disk Cleanup' - then complete this with a Defrag .... then return to do a fresh install.

This is what I do for Orbx and P3D 2.5 (assuming P3D has nothing by Orbx already installed):

1. Extract the zip files you have downloaded for each scenery package. In the extracted archives, click the .exe file to install each scenery.

2. Install your regions first (NZSI, NZNI, AU etc). They will come with an old version of FTX Central bundled. The installer will tell you this will start at the end of the process and you should then select the region you want to use BUT due to recent changes in P3D and FTX Central itself, this version of FTX Central will crash with an error.

3. Install the most recent Orbx libraries next. This gives you a working FTX Central version 2. P3D 2.5 moved terrain.cfg from the P3D root folder to C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ and old Orbx installers still expect it to be in its original place as they have not been upgraded, hence the crash. The new FTX Central 2 fixes that problem. This will get you up and running while you install everything else.

3. Install any airports you have for the regions.

4. Install the AI packs. For P3D, these are currently 4.20 base pack, 4.21 patch and 4.22 patch. Last time I installed, 4.22 was not listed on the freeware downloads page but there is a link in Releases on the Orbx forum.

5. Install the latest Orbx libraries again. This makes sure any old versions of FTX Central, autogen descriptions, objects etc which may have been installed along with the airports are overwritten with the latest files again.

6. Always reinstall the latest Orbx libraries after adding any new Orbx airport, region, FTX Global etc.

Hope that helps,

You're welcome. Their stuff doesn't come with uninstallers in Add/Remove Programs but you can usually start fresh by deleting the ORBX folder in your P3D folder and doing a few other things. There are instructions on the Orbx support forums. It's a sticky post called "Uninstalling Orbx products" or something like that.

Good luck!

But others don't seem to have the same problem I just watched a Youtube video and it was just fine. My water ways and the sea is just trees.

Something has to be screwed up with the elevation with P3d and Orbx.

Depends on what your settings are , the trees could be another setting and course the elevations , that is famous with the ORBX package , has affected many so its a mission to level things out .

Where do you start. I get what your saying but I have watched many youtube videos of Orbx North and South and don't see any problems. But Yes the Terrain is all off set I never recall a large hill at Foxpine or a Pine forest in the Middle of Wellington Harbor or out at the airport so I agree. Any ideas I can try.
