Well , i thought it might get at least a response ... the young fella was so proud of the shot.
Not sure about this place anymore ... would have more action at a morgue . <_<

Something you'd expect in Wellington but not Christchurch

It is a darn good shot - a still photo with heaps of action, if you see wot I mean...

It's quite common in a NW day.

Now you mention it: the landing in Wellington Thursday last was a little... different.
A strong northerly, and that lump of cloud sitting on Wellie.
The captain advised it might be a little bumpy.

So we flew halfway out over Cooke Strait where he popped the spoilers and went quickly down through the mixmaster. Then turned around and flew flat and fast back to the runway. There was very much land in view out the side, before the gear went down and the wing opened up. A moment later the thing was down and braking really, really hard.

Gotta try this in the sim.

And that is a choice frame of Jono's, Marty.
He deserves a better lens to do justice.

My first reaction was...

..WOOOOOPS!

Left main wheel down first.....followed some time later by the right main wheel!

Bum-clenching time!... :o ...!

Paul.... :D ...!

Applying the brakes too early, generally results in a nasty "Ground-Loop" for me, in my little Sim GA Piston Props!... :( ...!

Last weekend with Northwester caught a ARBUST going around on 29/11 , over church corner the wind was so strong the aircraft looked as if it was just hanging there !

Working two jobs tends to cut down on simming time...
But one of them gets me driving past NZCH a couple of times a week, so always take a moment to watch a couple of landings
