Postby Splitpin » Sat Oct 17, 2015 8:03 pm

I mentioned MOTAT not long ago on Ians art site , and i remembered a few shots i took there last month ......

As you can see , they have (since i last saw it ) installed a new viewing area in the aircraft hall (upper right in the photo)

Look at the size of those Solent engines ...

And the bow end is pretty impressive as well ....

Honestly, I don't think I'd be brave enough to fly in one, but you can't help loving that cute little face -- I might make a plywood Airtruk for the grandkids.

Speaking of Ian, I thought of him today when I read the news item about the 'Boeing A380'. I'm sure that would give him a hernia just thinking about it.

And also speaking of news, I've officially given up Stuff five minutes ago, when I read two headlines:
Man cuts off own ears to look more like his parrots;
Shooting at Zombie festival in the US...

.

A plywoody model .. don't forget the gimmicks .. rolling wheels , moving flaps , opening doors , when tilted the flight controls will move and well sorted good looking cockpit were the grandkids can put their GI Joe figures in ..... that's what the kids today want !

When I was last there a few years ago, I burst out laughing when I turned around and saw the Airtruk in all its glory :lol:
