Prepard3d

Postby Splitpin » Tue Nov 17, 2015 6:39 pm

I know i asked a question about this a week or so ago .... but i cant find the post anywhere
I'm looking at the site now ..Lockheed/Martin.
As far as purchasing a licence is concerned , i dont seem to fit into any group they list.
The academic licence price suits my budget at the moment ... but I'm not a student.

Sorry to ask again , i must follow my posts a little closer , and i apologize if you did reply.

Yeah I'd recommend you go for the Academic version SP. It just has a little watermark in the top right corner which is not that noticeable, although having said that as you are a screenshot extraordinaire it may be be an issue for you.
If LM were serious about it then the academic version would only be available via educational outlets or you would have to prove that you are a student prior to purchase. They do neither. A "Talk the Walk" rather than "Walk the talk"compromise so to speak.

CP , I was thinking about that watermark .... dont really want it there, so maybe the $199 (i assume USD) will be the way to go.
Will advise the outcome.

Hmm, currently a little north of NZ$300... small price to pay to get rid of a watermark... I've never had to make that decision, since I use the developer's license, and although I've probably paid more than US$200 so far, paying $10 monthly is a lot easier, and of course it's a business expense.

There's always the cropping tool ...a lot cheaper than $300 bucks.

It plays well with Win 10.
Just make sure that when it comes to drivers, especially the graphics drivers, that you use the Nvidia drivers (assuming you are Nvidia) and not use the drivers that Win 10 installs.
This has been one of the biggest areas of low sim performance.

Have a read of this Marty so that you set up your sim well right from the start. NickN is quite the guru.

It starts from about the 8th post and later on he has a draft guide.

I think you will enjoy P3D.
