How about 4 aircraft for your money.All about $15AUD at the current PC Aviator Australia sale.The Metroliner from Razbam,The C17 Globemaster from Virtavia,the Huey from Nemeth and something light,say the Quest Kodiak from Lionheart.

It depends on what type of flying you are in to. If it is GA then you can't go past the A2A aircraft as mentioned above.

For something a little faster and more capable the Carenado fleet is a good option and you may be able to pick up a couple of new models for your fleet.

If you are in to commercial airliners then it really depends on what your flying preference and level of detail desires are. A good ( not the best but sticking to the $60) B737 is the Wilco offering. If you are looking for an Airbus then you may get the Aerosoft version for $60 but it would be close and may be slightly over budget.

What sim you are using can also sway which way you are going.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions, I am afraid that the likes of A2A set the bar high for me as far as eye candy goes, but the kodiak looks like a bit of fun for sure might have to snatch that up, I really want the emb505 But untill I can afford the gtn 750 gps im not really thinking id enjoy it much.

Having flown all of the A2A GA aircraft as well as the Realair Duke V2 and Legacy, I've recently picked up a few cheaper aircraft from IRIS (Texan Driver, Grob 115E and Battlefield Airlifter) and (Lionheart) Quest Kodiak. It really is apparent just *how* high they (A2A and Realair) have raised the bar. These other aircraft though very competent, and a lot cheaper in the sales, are lacking crispness and detail in their texturing and modelling, their sounds are lacking in realism and subtleties , their flight models feel weaker and their documentation isn't in the same league either.

I agree that A2A or Realair would be great additions - though sadly you've juust missed the A2A 25% off sale (and the < half price Kodiak).

That's not to say the likes of the Quest Kodiak isn't a lot of fun... there aren't all that many aircraft that could get in here (Milie PNG, part of ORBX Jacksons International) and back out again. Yes, that's a very(!) steep uphill strip with a kink in the middle and houses at the end:

One thing to bear in mind is that A2A have separate versions for FSX and P3D, with no upgrade pricing. This can create quite a large hurdle to transitioning to P3D at ~US$50 each. You can get a dual installer for US$more. RealAir have modest migration pricing to convert your licenses (I think).

I've just done a tally of all my various FSX addons and it's the A2A stuff (J3, 172, 182, Cherokee & Comanche) that looks like preventing me really considering any migration. The GTN750 is also another challenge, needing a new purchase plus Realair Turbine Duke upgrades. All told I'd be up for US$300 to do any sort of solid migration plus the price of P3D.

I'm gonna stick with FSX I reckon, plus I'm not totally comfortable with the whole P3D licensing business, as well as semi-regular re-purchase pricing of P3D.

Anyway sorry if I'm derailing things somewhat - it's just that these days with the fragmentation and varying package coverage of platforms there're new considerations to be aware of.

Don't be sorry, I everyone has some good points, I was lucky enough to pick up the milviz c310 or whatever it is, was a 17 aud so a bargain however I feels like a much cheaper realair duke, If any of you have been on line of late I have actually just finished flying the north island in the A2A c172 down the east coast then from welly up the guts to in the Cherokee finishing in Kaitaia. Now im headed back down the west coast where I think I will continue in my Cherokee, I am saving the Comanche for the south island being it has much better climb !

I hear what you say about upgrade options, TBH Im not fussed on the licencing model for prepared however I am not upgrading till I have rebuilt my machine.

The IRIS GROB is nice but as mentioned yes they do lack that special touch. It reminds me of fishing tackle....

On a side not I am looking into IVAO over vatsim now as the material is really good, lots of content etc. No one has posted of it here in years from a search, maybe I'll start a thread with my findings.

They've been advertising the development of a Heuy for about 5 years

They have stated that the UH1 got derailed by development by their work on commercial products. The 206 is getting an upgrade and they are releasing another helicopter as an offshoot of one of their commercial products.
