Do you have a Telecom Ombudsman over there?

YIP , It jumps up and down, one really has to wonder who is in charge off the accounts department .... you would have thought it was a simple level this out and away we go ... look at the change owning $70.77NZ now on a standard $80.00 per month ... Its up and down like bloody hores draws ! :P

"Do you have a Telecom Ombudsman over there?" I would not even know were to find one off those , I bloody should not have to .... it is pretty pathetic such a large company can repeatedly chop and change.

I really feel your pain Ian. I've had similar problems!

It took over 3 months to get a T-Box installed. It actually came into our house 3 times to be installed but everytime there was an office cock-up and it couldn't be commissioned. Something to do with a job 12 mths earlier to install their cable into the house that hadn't been closed off! They were adamant it hadn't been done and I said well I'm talking to you on it right now! The poor contractors get the stick from the customers. Don't get me started on their call center. I have never been able to talk to a human in under 2 hours! One day just for fun I hung on the phone for 8 hours on speaker phone. When I finally got an answer they transferred me and cut me off! In the end I threatened to throw all their gear out on the front lawn if it wasn't sorted the next day. That at least prompted them to give me a ring and I had it installed 2 weeks later.

You have to watch their billing like a hawk. Ours changed suddenly and we rung the call center (still the same). When we finally got to talk to an english speaking human they corrected it and found we were paying for something we didn't have, so they fixed that too. So far (6 months) it has been stable and cheaper!

Paul .. I'm sticking to my guns .. If a company can't sort its simple billing out then dictate what they require you to do ... that is a negatory , if you have payed the bill automatically for a decade without a problem .. change the company name and then they really SCREW IT ! .. $677.20 the previous bill .. one has to ask even were that figure come from .

Funny they said they will back this week .. since early/mid Saturday morn said would take a week to fix, we are now into the end off this week and course the latest billing showing something totally different again and still no reply ... set of rules for some people and a set of rule for others ... or maybe they simple don't talk or having B!TCH fights in-house.

I think the worst part is were they demand moneys and yet can't even fix there problems within a day ! .. I would have thought - SIMPLE - customer pays automatically and been here ten years .. ZERO the bill SIMPLE!

Thanks Mike , I'll keep that close in hand, I'll wait and see what happens with my current reply, we shouldn't have to go this far ... after seven months when I first called that something is seriously wrong here .. the reply "we will fix it at this end" ...

The principle of an Ombudsman started in Sweden - an agency of last resort for people who had been stuffed around by bureaucrats at any level of gummint and had nowhere left to go.
These days in Oz, we have several varieties of Ombudspersons for a number of areas, including the snake-oil merchants in telecomms, and IIRC, those only appeared after NZ embarrassed the Oz Gummint by actually doing something about it.
The process is the same for all of them - The bandits rip you off, you complain to them, they do nothing about your complaint beyond maybe adding a penalty fee to the disputed bill (a common trick); you are then entitled to approach the relevant Ombudsman, who can and does beat the living crap out of the robbers, should your complaint be justified.

I do like the Idea of beating the living crap out some off these idiots .. seems to me they are trying to fix the situation without a knee capping or a swift kick in the balls , the worst part when I first brought the billing seven months back it is obvious nothing was done ... some telephone line call person decided to not to pass on the complaint nor the original message ... A local store ... Oh JOLLY BLIMEY ! ... we will have your pizza delivered it two minutes from this reply with a service and apology . .... this is a seven month ago and mentioned and a huge well known company .. one has to ask questions.

23146921.

A number which is burnt into my Memory, like my National Insurance number.

I was the 23 millionth, 146 thousandth, 921 (th) British Army soldier to join the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in June 1955!

...and spent 2 years National Service, waiting, every day, on my calender, for my Demob!

I was never designed to polish boots and brass...paint coal white...and stand to attention!.... :wink2: ...!

Paul...its nice being a; "Civilian"...on a hot Summer's Day!.... :D ...!
