Goodbye Auckland

Postby Lindstrim » Mon Feb 08, 2016 9:47 am

Today marks the final day that Eagle will operate into Auckland Airport with the 1900's.

Sad day especially considering that AKL-GIS was the first route flown with the 1900's when they were introduced.

They are exiting, KKE, TRG, TUO, ROT and WAG airports, and the HLZ-AKL route.

One of my favorite memories was ferrying a 1900 empty to HLZ and taking off on 23L from A2 and getting airborne by A3 and then getting greater than 5000ft/min climb rate.

I'm guessing you also have the PMDG 2004 that can, you always bring your memories back.

Nah the Carrarendo version, and done some tweaks to the engines to make them more realistic

I was on Tower for the last flight so got to give the final takeoff clearance - another in the list of types that have come and gone over the last 27yrs. :(

I would have thought a third level operator in New Zealand could have snapped them up buying them and get a service running using the type, they have the pilots and ground staff who maintain them.
