SCREEN SHOT OZx site down.

Postby Ian Warren » Tue Jun 07, 2016 8:30 am

OZx site has had slight technical glitch putting the site out off action and they are working on restoring it, in turn this has affected OZx image posting http://www.fsfiles.org/ , sure it will be up in a few hours again.

ORBX seems OK .... FSFiles is up - but it's still a bit dysfunctional (like me!!). Pic uploads fail.

I shudder to think what they've had to do to move all these sites (all at once). We should be grateful they're backup so soon - even if not quite 100% yet.

The ORBX Forums are down as well. It appears their re-location to new servers has been a bit of a headache all round!!

All this with a major "LCLookup" migration that has its own problems to add to that. I can afford to sit here patiently, but there are people that spent 1,000s of dollars on their scenery and are left with bugged migrations and nowhere to go for support. Bummer all round - for those with problems - and for those desperately trying to fix the servers!

On the ORBX site at least (not tried OzX for a while) I've tried all sorts of different browsers (some that haven't been there for ages) - so it's not a *loca/userl* browser cache problem. They need to delete all the SESSION caches on the *server* (or clear the session table in the database).

I found I needed to go into each of my browsers and clear all the data, including cookies and off-line data. Then close and restart the browser and everything worked again.

Chrome - More Tools, Clear browsing Data
Firefox - Options, Privacy, Settings and tick everything and then OK

Give it a shot

I think it sorted itself out in the meantime. Ben (ORBX) is on his way back to Oz and promises to take a long hard look at what's going on - with an aim to putting all the forums etc. in the right place (which will mean more temporary disruption, LOL!).

In the meantime, I will continue with PostImage, which has only been offline twice in the several years I have been using it, and even then only for six hours or so.
