I've never owned or driven/ridden any fuel-injected vehicles (Vee-Hickles), but with the cool, damp, moisture laden atmosphere that we are having lately, its noticeable just how more my normally-aspirated carburettor motorbikes, run powerfully and efficiently!

All that moist air being sucked into my engine turns it into a steam engine, in addition to the fuel/air combination!

A cool, damp ride on my bike results in my arms being torn off during acceleration.... .....(perhaps).... ....!

Maybe the compression ratio increases with moist air in the cylinder(s) resulting in more power!

I quite like ordinary carburettors... ...!

In the olden motorcycling days (1950) devices appeared on the market for injecting water directly into the carburettor to increase power/efficiency.

Didn't Spitfire aeroplane engines do something similar?

My latest upload, illustrating a ride through the typical English countryside lanes bordered by high hedgerows limiting the views on either side, which is why I often envy my American Chums with no such scenery limitations on their road systems!

Starting in the village of Credenhill, (a WWII RAF Camp), a few miles outside of Hereford City, travelling through the country byways and returning back home again!

All done on my 1983 Yamaha RX-S 100, 98cc 2-stroke motorcycle, Summer 2015.

Mike has got it sorted!..... ...!

Its amazing, providing that you type in the; "Google Sat Map" the name of the place, the county, the country, etc, it will beam down onto the exact same spot in the World!

During the journeys on my motor-bikes, I make a point of texting the names of the various places I pass through, so a quick search in the "Google Sat Map" with show the whole area I am travelling!

I suspect that Mike has the same affection/excitement for exploring "Google Sat Maps" as I have!... ...!

It would be nice if a transparent version of the map could be overlaid on my Video journey, showing the journey as it happens...as in a "Sat Nav Map"!

I always wish that other You-Tube "Motorcycle Bloggers" would name their locations as they travel, so that I could explore their area(s).

I love exploring things....(As the Bishop says to the Actress).... ...!

The worry for me, is always the; "locals", tanking along their familiar country roads in their; Land Rovers, USV's, Tractors, etc!

They don't expect a biker to be exploring their countryside, and I am likely to forced into the ditch when avoiding them!

..and, of course, those bloody "high hedges" don't help with visibility around corners...unlike my American Bikers who don't suffer such roadside vegetation!

Exploring such English Roads can be quite stressful at times!

Paul...occasionally stressed...(but not too often!).... ...!

Another one of my many motorcycle trips down Memory Lane in the 1950's for me!

Part of the 12-mile run from the village of Pontrilas to the town of Abergavenny, on the A65 Trunk Road, with the original road appearing and disappearing along the way!



Amongst my Herefordshire roads, most of which have changed dramatically over the past decades, from when I remember travelling them in the early 1950's on my various Motorcycles!

A text-narrated journey.

I have the microphone located in my helmet, but as you can hear from the audio, the wind noise in my open-face helmet precludes its use for audio narration!
I prefer open-face helmets for good all-round visibility, but I will have to experiment with a full-face helmet, with the visor down, to see if the wind noise is drastically reduced in the microphone to allow audio narration on the fly!

In the meantime, take a trip with me along the leafy highways and byways of Herefordshire and the surrounding Counties!

I woody never even call that a soft rise .. had you had that 600 you will not have have had to worry the traffic .. been straight over the top.

We have hills...soft ones....!

For "Mountains", I fly over the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Yosemite National Forest, in my trusty Cessna 150 Aerobat!

For "Hill Billies", I go to South Carolina and Georgia......with a Banjo on mah Knee!... ...!

Hello Ian....

I watched Henry Cole, (Worlds Greatest Motorcycle Rides), doing the ride from the top of North Island, to the bottom of South Island, on his Harley Davidson 48, on the Travel Channel.
It showed the roads and countryside, which are very similar to our English Roads, and he met some famous folks along the way.

Never saw that series here, tho we did have a celebrity here in New Zealand who rode his , sure it was a Harley, always had his pet cat ride with him on the fuel panier /pouch, worst thing tho someone pulled out in front of him killing them both ... be worth digging up a little detail.

Rastus is a cat who enjoys riding with Max an avid motorcycle enthusiast we are in Stanley park Vancouver Canada the year 1993, the footage was shot by camera on Mountain bike using a Optex cam support system. Note, Max and Rastus along with a rider on the back of the motorcycle wee all killed by a drunk , didn't realize he was Canadian but a lot of news time when obviously travelling thru the NZ were both were killed.
