And then this one  if it was a sim shot i would say there was a scenery elevation problem , or maybe a contact point fault with the model ... but its real ... and its odd.
Will get the details of where he took the pic ....

Good work big fella .

Oh re the 777 shot, possibly he was at the northern end of the runway looking south.

The runway isn't very level any more, and drops away just past the 1000ft markers on 20.

WOW!

...just look at all those mountains in the background in pic 1!.... :o ...!

Reminds me of the Sierra Nevada mountains bordering Owen's Valley, Highway 395, California/Nevada!

Not to de-track Marty for Jono's photo post - that is a great photo , Paul it is one of those photo's were real depth in the background, Jono took his photo in near the same place .. the , on a cool morning, just to compare this was one almost very close to his photo and it has that same near affect , this was a warm afternoon .. famed North-West wind that is the Southern Alps , it give you a good compare , two different season ... this photo was a share fluke ! only just brought the camera. Those Alps are for you .. no KM .. a good 60 plus miles away.

Many thanks, Ian.... :D ...1

A wonderful view of the mountains!
(Tele-photo lens?...60 miles is a long way away!).

We don't get those sort of snowy, rocky peaks over here in Herefordshire..... or most any other places in England!

The Brecon Beacons in South Wales are the nearest to me, but even then, they are mostly big grassy mounds!

Assuming your photo is taken near Christchurch, Ian, I must have a peek at my Google Sat Map to identify those mountains of yours!

I assume most of the impressive towering peaks are in the South Island, rather than the North Island!

I love comparing my Flight Sim Scenery to the real stuff: GTX Mesh, Ultimate Terrain, etc....
(Southern California is very realistic, in comparison!).

Paul....Exploring the Countryside!.... :D ...!

This photo is taken about 'again for you' about 400 yards from were Jono took his photo, he took his shot along Orchid Rd and my photo is close to the intersection off Avonhead and Orchid Rds ... the peak in the back ground is Mt Torlesse at 1961 meters high and slightly to the left of that is Porters Pass not shown in the photo.
