Postby dbcunnz » Mon Aug 01, 2016 12:00 am

Welcome to the NZFF August 2016 Screenshot Competition.

This month's rules are as follows (Please read them).
If you have any queries about the rules please PM me for clarification before posting your entry.

Can I ask participants to please take note of rule 3: The images must be jpg so please don’t post png.

1) The screenshot image must consist of a screen captured from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-plane or P3D)

[b]2)
Some editing is allowed (if you know how to do it.) Additional images - either screenshots or "real" images can be added - but the main component of the image should always be of a Flight sim screen capture.

3) The images must be jpg and size must be at least 1024 pixels wide and no wider than 1280 pixels
3a) No frames or txt to be left on the image
Please keep a high resolution version saved on your computer; the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert into a site banner!

4) Images can be submitted from August 1st until midnight 31st August 2016, with only one entry of a single image per member.
You can change your image anytime up until 1 hour before the closing time.
To change use the edit button at the bottom of your post, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one If you post comments using the quote or reply button please edit out all images from your reply or quote.

5) Soon after the competition ends, a poll will open for members to decide who has the best image, and then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the prize for the month.

6) This month's theme: “From inside the cockpit.” (Please state Aircraft details)

I ask all members to please patronize all our very generous prize sponsors.
We have an excellent prize for this month’s competition very generously donated by Flysimware Simulation Software

The voting will take place after the competition closes at the end of the month and the winner with the highest vote will get the prize and have their image placed in the NZFF Banner for the month.

Can't tell you the cockpit unless you look hard enough ... I can tell you it is directly over Christchurch ... put the sim on pause and just to prove it I have a fuel transfer cock level on my desktop B-)

Righto guys and gals the theme this month is “From inside the cockpit.” and that is exactly what it means so don't try and interpret it as any thing else, anything from outside the cockpit will not qualify.

As clear as a windscreen, Doug.
So, it doesn't mean any of these:
Something thrown/dropped from inside the cockpit
The pilots in the Flash Gordon movie, one of the greatest movies of all time, btw, who disappeared from inside the cockpit...

I can live with that. Even after I've carefully recreated the scene from Flash Gordon, and now have to scrap it.

DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR :rules: :D .... crystal .... but i do have a question , if i may sir.
You mention , (Please state Aircraft details and which movie it is taken from ) ?
Do we have to take a shot from a movie ?(from the cockpit) or just from the cockpit ?

Not being picky ... just need to know.

I just wanna say that although I mentioned a movie, I didn't even read the rules this month, I just saw the theme, so any movie mention was purely coincidental... so I've already broken the rules, by not reading the rules. On the other hand, I assume the movie bit was an accidental copy/paste from a previous comp.

I think one of off the best answers ... 'Lateral Thinking' :P I'm always getting told off for breaking rules, I always look at the possible extremes rather the boring cos that dose get boring, 10 years ago this theme also come up ... but I did not enter back then its was Andrew and Alex ... took me a few months before I really got my MOJO after then been prity much in every Screenie Comp since , I don't need a prize ..... tho one from 'Milviz' would have suited me, the North American F-100 Super Saber, I was Very busy with art ....... one thing is I try to add some direction even with breaking the rules .... push the boundary .. and final see what's incoming B-)

Yes you are onto it Rob it is a copy of the last Flysimware Simulation Software sponsored competition but fixed now.
By using a copy of a previous comp setup and just changing the dates etc save a lot of time by not having to redo all the hyperlinks etc.

There is one forum for the screenshots comp, and another for discussion of the screenshot comp rules.
Unfortunately, it seems there are members determined to destroy anything, if that will upset some other members, and they refuse to recognise that.
I have better things to do with my time than waste it responding to stirrers.

Great topic...

I'll put this in here because it's stickied for a month, and deserves special attention.
Milton Shupe and Team have released the freeware Mallard Turbo, and the VC texturing is surely worth a look!
I brought one to NZRO, and it does play well.
