The Gatling gun would be a very interesting one , I really do wanta see that one up close ... well in model type , I think also will modify specifics, I have books schematics of the UZI and the M-60 , I did play around with a M-61 Vulcan in Australia so be interesting to see what can be done with that .

My partner went to memorial service (for want of a better word) with some other local Japanese people this evening .... one of our flatmates grandmother was there ... saw it , and survived .
And of course lets not forget (as many do ) Nagasaki 3 days later ... 90,000–146,000 people in Hiroshima and 39,000–80,000 in Nagasaki killed.

Yes, One thing is many thing many miss is the not reading about the hero's from Japan for example Saburo Sakai , more not about that side were the bombings that did become in pinnacle part in history, .. really that is were the my history and understanding and following missions and then follow up on it , we all lost people and family, best thing is least in my case in remembering from all sides and with great deal of interest so in a way least these people are not forgotten, most in my field or have this interest show and we respect what it was all about.

When I think back now, the only weapon I ever possessed, in my whole life, was my Catapult as a youngster.

A forked stick and some square section elastic rubber, a piece of pierced leather....

...and a small stone...

...but beware...>>> http://www.nwhsa.org.uk/offensive_weapon.htm

Guns and bullets never, ever, floated my boat... :wink2: ...!

I suspect that most of England, (that I know about), is a gun-free zone.

...thank goodness...

Paul.... :D ...!

Here are the two KGV's 14" turrets and one of the eight 5.25'' secondary turret's refurbished in 1988/89. lost track of the date, the 14' gun barrels are base tube with paper wrapped around at the breech joints and the 5.25" guns had custom made barrels out of 6mm lead-bright steel , as for the reat of the turret other than a little frame the bulk is well cured card.

The bridge is completely made out of cardboard as with many parts and have weathered lakes and the days weather .. yip out there when it was raining , the bridge even has a mini wheel house, map table and haws pips  ... I did get carried away but it is very surprising how strong and how well 30 year old card can do and it still looks brand new.

The surprising part is each barrel has an independent mechanical hold and slider to hold the gun in any position, 10 of those made for the 14" main armament and 16 for the secondary and work even better now ... all the units are made out of cardboard and again weathered real storms.

So its going to be interesting to see how much I can modify these Cardboard paper guns , this will be interesting look see .

The thing they never mention but is always what should happen is the cleaning of the bloody things, if you have a fire arm it needs to be cleaned once a month, so more weapons = lots more stuff to clean.

It quite amazing and what one said when required a simple piece, isolated I was but when the person wanted to see how I was cooking "Your a bloody little factory", all this arty farty stuff , simply above there ahead and being creative .. had it done in three hours .. no chance to watch the lawn grow .. I cant see it happening anyway, leg stretching time I can check.

Thanks gents ..... its been a long time since i had this much time off work, last time was after the stroke thing.
Sad part is i could have been flying (sim) all week ... but it hasn't really been a holiday. :(

Anyway , Im all booked in for the September spotting trip. The lads (as you know) booked my flights to AKL.
I had to drop a day (work) and re book my flight north to the 9th .... got the accommodation sorted (ibis auckland airport) and a rental car.
So the old fart will be in the city of sails from the 9th of September (eta about midday on jetstar) until 1900hrs on the 11th.

Im taking my younger brother with me (the boys father) ... to be honest , i cant be bothered , but maybe that's just me at the moment.
It will be a nice to get them all together i suppose.

Learning process , its only card .. now to add extra strength, one old box .. I'm guessing blue is cut and delete.
Image
I thought , slit it with a knife after gluing , push a pencil thru then use a socket to round the barrel hole.

I've already made weapons , even practice dumb mortar shells .. lot of other stuff :) .. these really are not models .. they are more templates to build on so in a way , if you had a UZI on your desktop (real McCoy) .. in my hands would build it very easy and frankly a lot easier than this , really have studied this and already modify'd it , ...... One thing it dose is give one a complete template to the exact scale, So with that in mind , lets remodel it .
