THE MOVIES you have on the shelf : not for UTUBE posting

Postby Ian Warren » Sat Sep 24, 2016 3:12 pm

This is not for UTUBE posting , this is for the DVD's you have on the shelf, Always I have a few movies, I have always wanted many I don't have on the shelf, but with a special , I brought a couple this week, one I Always Wanted .. start with that.

APOCALYPES NOW Redux version B-)

You really have to be a frame of mind and read a little to understand Vietnam , my brother Richard said this is long and drawn out but I would like the action scenes, very war like surreal be in there Vietnam on the front line with no real thought you could be shot because it was the 'Hippy' error and they went to war with mostly conscripts then add to the mix ... what ever they were taking , course add the that mix with dumbness, boredom.

Three hours is more to get to understand the people, huge star cast .. that for you when you by it to find out ... Course the HUEY ... the movie maker, a lot of material I have studied and read about makes this movie , probably make some angry, .. should be given to Helen Clark as a present .. the whole country can chip in for a $11.00NZ DVD .

Eleven dollar special I watched this movie on a early release, had a friend who always got free tickets, only viewed it once but seeing it again it is ultimate fun and typical Tom Selleck action comedy ... 11 dole ... Yip well worth it.

OK... this is a real goody, It would require a little research to nail the names, BUT I do recall the images during the assault, end of the day a real fun movie for the us war mongers .. not really.. it is a good watch just to give an idea of a very corrupt state/country.

I had a Great Present arrive this morning , my good friend Don in Michigan US of A sent this over, a whooping 211 minutes of a WWII B-17 squadron, it is Black and White but for us purists, made in 1962 , a lot of images from this movie are well documented in two of my B-17 books, most from the fly past below Utube link B-)

I don't have photos and my collection would send the average H&S and PC tosser running for the hills but here are a few...

First and foremost my favorite, that I go for first on a rainy day ... Kellys heroes. An all time classic with a fantastic star cast ( if you are from a certain generation).

Then ... all the Clint Eastwood "Dirty Harry" series. Disagree? go ahead, make my day.
Then ... all the Clint Eastwood "Man with no name" and other westerns ie. Fist full of dollars, A few dollars more, High Plains Drifter. The good, the bad and the ugly. Unforgiven and the classic Pale Rider.
And a few more Clint Eastwoods ... hhmmm seems to be a bit of a theme there.

And for some nostalgia I have "Space Cowboys" with Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, Tommy lee Jones and James Garner. :P

and heaps of others of different types.

For a bit more humorous Clint;
  • Any Which Way But Loose
  • Any Which Way You Can

"Left turn clyde"! :)

Firefox is one of my all-time favorites, btw.

My wife hates it when I sing...
..."the whorehouse, the whorehouse, where everyone gets a bargain"

... especially when we are in there at the time! :-)

Going Back to the movie "The War Lover" it even has a young Micheal Crawford .. AKA "Frank Spencer" as ball turret gunner 'Junior', so there ya go now or least still believe he lives on the Whangaparoa Peninsular in Auckland .
