748 , JF model and the RP model. 2 shots.

I managed to find the Rick Piper 748 buried in my archives .
All credit to the old thing ... it works without a glitch in P3D , considering this was made for FS9.

The screens have only been cropped .

The shots aren't perfect , but you get the idea i hope.

Not being a dynamics type , I cant comment on that area too much , but I will say , the JF model seems to accelerate way to fast , given the same loadings as Ricks .

Sound wise , the Rick model wins hands down , particularly as you push the power up for take off ..... that nice change in pitch is very evident.
The JF one , starts well ... then turns into a vanilla type cross between a turbine and a radial (to my ear anyway)

The panels are a different story , obviously, Ricks original is dated (thru no fault of its own) ... but the JF one could be better. Again , it seems like a water colour to me , not that sharp ... hard to put it in words . There is a V6 version of the RP panel for download , which I will install and screen for you later.

Marty, Rick's work was brilliant, right on the bleeding edge, which why the pirates stole so much of his stuff....Exterminate, exterminate

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

With Ricks model 748 I had Alistair Mcleod stop here, I gave him a hand to set it up at a pension home, the MC liveries , course the stories he told me flying the first aircraft into New Zealand in 1968 and with his wife..... that would have one hell of a trip , but the other historical flights he did .. they both are great B-)

It is funny how people pick up or recall the sound sets different, I'm sure we all spent many hours at the airport , these day we can only compare via DVD or Utube but then you have the rushing air/atmosphere that changes that, really its one half or a dozen.

I found on startup , you hear the pots kick in as it go's around the Dart , now the turbine is lit the pots disengage and it keeps burning, using the throttle you put the propeller to low pitch and throttle the engine up you then get that real Squeal with the Dart engine as they simply run it up then power down.

At the end of the runway, as you increase the power that sharp whistle disappears for a while on climb out power , as it comes back and power reduced to cruise power the whistle returns as it go's overhead .

What I did with a compare was run this Utube watch on this PC and stop pause and compare or and run both the F/Sim PC External
Watch on youtube.com

Then you get the inside, again sound copy and video unit can't really capture the sound being inside a tube , but if you run both flightsim and this video it has the sound changes as you start descending, go to the outside returned to the well know Dart engine sound.
Watch on youtube.com

Maybe this would be the better Internal , were you can here the changes.
Watch on youtube.com

And this one External , it dose depend on memory and recording device's.
