I know in the old days map makers used to insert a untrue island, so they could see if anyone else used their material without permission and the obvious copyright issues. Maybe some one is into hillside chalk drawings>>? Or NZ's own nazca patterns with aviation bent...Aliens perhaps!

I'd just stick to the Bandit .. Snuck in the door without permission, it is amazing what you do pickup with these photo, and today the resolution is just getting better and better all time ... all the better for us

Viewing Google Earth's 'historical imagery', this is a Landsat image taken 15/1/2012. Since it's a satellite image, it is always likely that it will include flying aircraft, there are plenty visible on GE, although I suspect that many would be 'painted out' for the actual LINZ releases.
