Ive been reading a book on the development of the DH Comet, and it got me thinking about the worlds first Jetliner, so ive pulled one from the hangar and started flying, one of the images in the book had the BOAC routes for the comet 1, so i now have London to Singapore/Tokyo saved in the flight plans, London, Rome, Cairo, Bahrain, Karachi, Kolkota, Bangkok, where you can go south to Singapore, or across to Manila, Okinawa and Tokyo.. But first a little trip from Hawaii to LA

The ole Comet 4B is a huge step after the original Comet 2's , and a lotta design changes, Great Screens Hayden , being the first really found the the mark in finding the problems .. all that energy lost in some respects.

Reading the book, the Series 1 was only ever meant to be a stopgap before the Series 2, which was an evolution for the Series 3 and on to the 4s, still today a gorgeous airplane

There is a Great video Dean, a regular at the Warehouse, simply called the , 'THE NIMROD' it really covers in depth for the layman, the metal fatigue and square box's .. very well worth video to have on the shelf for the family , But the book would be a goodie as well !

The book is excellent, it covers very indepth the accidents, not just the BOAC ones, but the Canadian Pacific one as well, it goes very indepth about the design and evolution of the comet right through the development of the Nimrod to is eventual scrapping in 2011.

Nice to see. It is not easy to present older aircraft like this. The AI-Flyer around and typical 60´s airports are in FSX not so much als for FS 2004 (Calclassic for example) But let us fly these Icones of another time of flight...

Oh yes definitely, i do still have an old machine running Windows XP whose sole purpose in life is a cal classic regressed world complete with AI, i am going to try my hand at scenery design at sometime, to regress NZCH, NZDN.
I am currently flying the David Maltby Comet 4 around the world in this, using the old BOAC route from London to Tokyo, then i am planning on going Midway, Hawaii, LAX, then across the USA to NYC, Shannon, back to London
