Mine is the deluxe version of the Honda Rebel, Ian.... :wink2: .....

It has dents on BOTH sides!... :groupwave: ....!

Have a peek at those chrome direction indicators either side of the headlight.....

If the bike falls over onto its side, (previous owners, trust me!), the front forks/handlebars swing round, and the indicator puts a dent into the tank.

Its the trade mark on most Honda Rebels!

Always attracts attention!

I wish we had enforceable "STOP" signs over here, instead of "Give Way"...or mostly nothing at all!

I stop at all intersections to make sure the road is safe, both ways, double check, and I have impatient motorists honking their horns behind me, to make me move on!

I notice that all the Yanks always obey their Stop Signs...which makes sense!

Remember the old signs; "Halt. At Major Road Ahead"?
...don't see them any more.... :( ....!

It has gone "nothing at all" unless out on the major roads, but even then they don't read the signage, on a motorbike you attack or least mindset like that , think everyone is going to have a go at you ... always two mirrors , ride like your a fighter pilot and scan every possible place some twit may have a go at ya.

Here you go Chums!.... .....!

Yesterday's (Sunday) trip into the countryside, braving the cold and damp, just to get out for a ride!....>>>

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBA6Y0j43AM

My bike sounds so much better with the baffles removed from both silencers (mufflers)!...

....and drowns out much of the transmission whine!.... ....!

She no longer sounds like a frustrated Sewing Machine!

I still need to swap my front 14-tooth sprocket for a 15-tooth sprocket, to reduce the engine revs when cruising....

...I just need a willing mechanic with a chain riveter.... ...!

Into English November weather now, so no more enjoyable, warm sunny rides 'till next year!.... :( ....!

Enjoy the Video, and don't forget to "like" and "subscribe".... ;) ...!

We are into December now, and as usual our motorcycle activities are seriously curtailed with the cold and approaching snow and ice conditions.
Even so, I have to brave the conditions on my bike every now and again to stock up with foodstuff, etc, and this is one of my latest trips just prior to a spell of freezing fog and hoar frost!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tdh-GOQKcQ

I love going out on my bike, but when the weather gets really cold at this time of the year I don't find my journeys particularly enjoyable!

I spend my time watching my biker chums on You Tube having fun in the warmer/hotter parts of Southern USA, and wishing I was there with them!

Hopefully, I will get an occasional day now and then, when the weather is acceptable, and I can upload and post some more videos of my journeys.

In the meantime, pop over to my Channel for journeys in and around England and Wales...>>>>

The return trip has already been recorded and edited, Ian, and will be ready for transmission in a few hour's time.... :wink2: ....!

Parked cars.

I think the restriction on parking facing the on-coming traffic is allowed during daylight hours, and in good visibility (No fog, etc).

At night time, and in poor visibility, the vehicles (vee-hickles in the USA) should/must be parked with their rear-end facing on-coming traffic.
The red reflectors at the rear of the vehicle must face on-coming traffic, and be illuminated by their headlights!

Which makes sense to me, but very few motorists seem to be aware of this simple fact!

Motorcyclists, on the other hand, are very good at using common sense, and being aware of various dangers.... :wink2: ...!

I try to park where nobody else can park...out of danger!

Lady Penelope used to know a Parker.

....as promised....the return journey...>>>

...and the return journey back home again, braving the cold, (for me), with all my shopping goodies.

Its the start of December, Winter, in England now, and a long time before the weather gets warm again for my old bones.

In the meantime, I have to constantly watch out for warm(er) breaks in the weather to go for an occasional ride, and a chance to video my journey!

The day after Boxing Day...27th.

I was going to video a ride around the local countryside this afternoon, but after checking the local weather forecast, being; 39*F, dropping to 32*F (FREEZING!) I considered it was far too cold for my old bones, so I just went shopping to Sainsbury's and back again instead... ....!

But my You-Tube Harley Biking chums, up in Connecticut (New England) way, are made of much stronger stuff than me!... ;) ....!

A "Christmassy" 2016! ride with seasonal music accompaniment...

Enjoy!

I wrapped up with all my winter-biking clothes, but the cold winter blast on my face, with my open face helmet, was far too uncomfortable!

...I ponder (as I do) what it must be like to be in Arizona?.... instead.... ....

So, I select a nice journey, with a grand selection of Folks, all riding Harley Davidsons, and enjoying themselves amongst some glorious wide-open countryside, in some wonderful, blue sky, warm weather....

Again the roads here are more scenic but in saying that the US of A is so huge be a different view everyday, be great to have all the money in the world and do a US bike trip bouncing across to all the Museums and airshows military installations.

The thing that kills my Bike rides, over here in England, Ian, are the roadside hedgerows which completely remove all views of the surrounding countryside, as can be seen in my videos.
We travel down through a tunnel of high hedges, everywhere we go!
The experience in the USA is completely different!
No matter where you ride, in whatever State, the roads are completely devoid of Hedgerows, so the views are totally unrestricted in all directions!
The roads blend into the scenery either side, even the roadside buildings, houses, etc, do not hide behind high hedges.
Their (grass, etc) frontage blends into the road!

Over here in England we seem to build walls around everything, which we hide behind!

Now that livestock farms have mostly disappeared over the years, there is no reason to have roadside hedges any more. Simple wire-strung fence poles would suffice where necessary!

I really do envy my American Biker Chums, as I view their motorcycle rides, State by State, on You Tube!

That wide open scenery in all directions, clear blue sky, with mountains (Sierra Nevada?) in the distance, is to die for!

Paul....just waiting for the rain to stop, and the weather to get warmer!.... ...!

A leisurely trip up Route 395 in Owen's Valley, on the California/Nevada border...and listening to the local radio...>>>>

many areas like that are in New Zealand , 6 minutes into the vid is like going into Nelson and other area between Rotorua and Taupo , I think the vast, share size of the US dose make appealing.

Hello Ian...

I'll have do a search for some You-Tube; "Eagle Rider" videos of Harley Davidson trips around New Zealand, North and South Island... :D ...!

Henry Cole did a complete NZ tour on a Harley 48 for TV Travel Channel a while ago!

I guess North Island would be more "Country-fied?...and South Island more Mountainy-fied?.... :D ....!

I'll make sure the weather is nice and warm/hot for the trip!

Hotter in the North and Colder in the South?

Paul.... B-) ....!

Regard to both Islands it 50/50 far as view's you can get some real dynamic road on both islands , the entire country changes so quickly , depend on what you are looking for , Temp's are colder south but that's seasonal on both islands .. I rode rain, wind, snow, ice, single, and of all things a dirt track on a quarter ton (just for you Paul) 1100 up a hill !
