The problem with photographing our garden birds is that they have been taught from a very young age that England is covered with Domestic Cats, intent on dismantling them!
The slightest movement will result in them flying off very quickly!
A lot of bird noise outside, squawking, etc, will indicate that there is a Cat on the prowl....(a ghost of Mars!)....

If it were not for the Cats (and Birds of prey) I suspect that our lovely Garden Birds would live very happily amongst us!
