Retrospective thinking

Postby Splitpin » Sat Apr 29, 2017 8:53 pm

IF ... you could go back, let's say, 30 years ( for those of us over 30 :) ) What if anything would you change? Knowing what you know now.
I myself would change a lot ...
So, let's say ... you have that advantage (Quantum thinking) and you are able to meet yourself 30 years past ... what would you say?
Would your 30 years past self even listen?
I doubt mine would ... know it all, arrogant, ... and confused person he (I ) was.

Just saying

30 years ago, bar a month or so, I was showing darling daughter how to drive a car. We were in among the sand dunes north of St Andrews beach, beside the golf course and across the river from RAF Leuchars. It was the same place I had my first 'official' drive 22 years before.
Would change the bank balance if poss.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

30 years ago my first kid was 3 months old, and everything was rosy, so I doubt I could convince myself of the hell to come -- two divorces, twice redundant, health gone to the pack... but if I could communicate one thing, it would be to think long term, and get a proper job with a future!

30yrs ago....

would have gone into a crappy rundown suburb where I used to work and bought as many properties as I could have begged borrowed or stolen the money for and then
leveraged against those to get even more.

Then just sat in "the Birdcage" next to the old Securitas headquarters at the bottom of Ponsonby where I was working and waited...
