The textures!
Very nice Marty, I suspect I may have jumped out of that one already, and taken my chances with the Farmer's daughter.

Thank you for looking Charl ...it (the shot) reminds of Armin Faber, when he landed (he misread his compass) at Pembrey in Wales in a Fw 190A-3.
He was greeted by an RAF NCO, and said after handing over his pistol, something like "I may have just given you a prize"

After some considerable reading, I had no idea about how many German crews didn't make it back over the channel.... but survived, and of course, a lot didn't.
Evidently, enough to get the 1943/44 harvest in ...swords to plow shears, amazing.

That shot certainly tells a story! It was a different time back then, that's for sure.

Another corker of a shot! Shame abouit the Bf110 - it had every chance of being a great aircraft, but just missed the mark. Was just too slow? Imagine a Mosquito with a rear-firing gun!

Adam.
