I keep coming back to the Staggerwing for this month's comp, I'm not sure I'd like to fly it in reality (too twitchy), but if I was really, really rich, then I'd love one in the hangar just to look at, and pay someone to take me to picnics, and pay someone else to polish it for me.
I understand that feeling Rob - the picnics would be right up my alley too. Just imagine a relaxing flight up to Erewhon to enjoy the winter snows on the surrounding mountains and a BBQ for warmth and food. Then in the summer, maybe a flight up to the Nelson Lakes area or the Marlborough Sounds . .. .
Now look what you've done, my mind has strayed away from the work I'm supposed to do today. Not sure that I want to get it back on task either!
I quite like the Waco too after reading about a couple of journeys in them - one across Australia and the other in USA; when I saw the Alabeo Waco was available I had to get it just to remind me of those journeys and help to vicariously live up in the skies with those two pilots.
