Electra Service New Zealand Style With Bizarre Landing

Postby Aharon » Fri Aug 25, 2017 5:24 am

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Presenting exclusive Electra service New Zealand style from NZAA Auckland Airport located near Mangere 13 miles south of centre of Auckland to NZNS Nelson Airport 8 miles southwest of the city of Nelson

On climb to FL200 after take off making left turn to head to south with background view of waters of Tasman Sea

Image

Still on climb and in middle of left turn with background view of waters of Manukau Harbour seen on upper left corner

Image

Wing view showing combo of waters of Tasman Sea below wing and waters of Manukau Harbour above wing

Image

Climbing climbing with background view of Waikato River below the plane

Image

Passing Waikato River

Image

Now cruising at FL200 along western coast of North Island of New Zealand approaching Raglan Bay seen ahead

Image

Cruising at FL200

Image

Making some direction adjustment

Image

Leaving North Island to do crossing across waters of Cook Strait

Image

View of South Island loomed ahead during crossing of Cook Strait

Image

Approaching South Island and Abel Talsman National Park

Image

Cockpit view showing Abel Talsman National Park on left and Kahurangi National Park on right with space between those 2 parks called Takaka

Image

Official airport charts do not match terrain of FSX default South Island of New Zealand BUT thankful, FSX is pretty accurate in that New Zealand highway route number 60 which I could follow all the way to Nelson!!

Image

Following the highway route number 60

Image

Cockpit view of Kahurangi National Park while keeping eye on the highway route number 60 seen on left

Image

Passing top of Kahurangi National Park

Image

Image

Keeping eye on the highway route number 60 seen above that leads to Nelson

Image

Descending after clearing out high mountains of the national park

Image

On final runway approach to runway 02

Image

Darn the New Zealand winds in winter that cause plane to tilt right!!!!!! Yes it is winter in New Zealand while it is summer in America or Europe

Image

Touchdown but unfortunately on right wheel!!

Image

Winds still keeping my plane on right tilt while right wheel producing cool tire smoke

Image

Fighting hard to lower left wheel battling against winds while right wheel still produces tire smoke

Image

Finally both rear wheels make runway contact still producing awesome tire smoke

Image

Time for me to try to lower front landing gear against winds

Image

Ahhhh MORE tire smoke as result of front landing gear wheels making runway contact

Image

Image

Exiting from runway into taxiway toward gate

Image

Arrived at gate to drop off satisfied passengers

Image

Thank you for viewing. Stay tuned for next exciting flight.

Regards,

Aharon

Hi Aharon,
What stunning shots............
Could i ask:
What platform was it in and could you direct me to where to get that Electra. I actually flew to Sydney on that actual aircraft a number of times many years ago
and would love to have it in my 'hanger'
Just point me in the direction and I will search for it if possible.
Cheers

Thanks, Sonnyj and Barrington for kind words.

I am using FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 unless you mean what model it is. If so, then it is freeware KBT model.

Thanks, Sonnyj and Barrington for kind words.

If you are referring to freeware KBT model for Electra, it can be easily found on avsim or flightsim as long as you are sure you find the latest version.

If you are referring to TEAL airline livery, it can be found on avsim or flightsim using the keyword Teal as search parameter for library search function
