XP11 Helicopter Action

So I've been playing around a lot with XP11 now and I hate to say it but I don't think that I'll be touching FSX too much anymore...

And the same area slinging in the 300. The box is just about bigger than the helicopter...

Like it. X-Plane has his another charme as FSX. It need some time to see it. It is the same as with Aerofly but in another way. Here i like the beautiful landscape but not the aircraft. One by the are not build to the end.

Hmm, my default XP11 doesn't look anything like that. What have you added for your scenery?

I do like XP11's atmospheric effects, but hate their roads. Though I guess that with scenery add-ons like I have in P3D it would be very good. One thing they have very right is the effect of mild in flight turbulence.

Getting back to the point - you've got a great sequence of shots there, atmospherically realistic and if the chopper is like the plane I'm flying it should be a great experience.

It's a different feel altogether isn't it? I think that XP simulates the aircraft moving through the air much better than FS / P3D

Ah ha Greg, you've spotted my little secret.... actually it's not really a secret at all.
North Island

South Island

Massive downloads but completely worth it. The one thing that NZ is lacking right now is high quality airports although that is being remedied....

Thanks for the links, I will certainty be giving that a shot over the weekend - though, overall I still prefer P3Dv4 (at the moment!)

Some of these shots have been uploaded into one of the development threads already but I thought that I'd put them here too. I've spent more time working on my little scenery projects than I have flying but every now and again I get to turn a blade... These were all taken near Haast using the scenery that I'm working on. The panel on the 300 is very dark but that's an XP10 vs XP11 thing. The upcoming update will fix that and a few other little issues. The AS350 is also an XP10 model with an XP11 version imminent... or so they tell me anyway. Both work in XP 11 without too many issues though.

Where did you get your trees? I'd love to see something a bit more NZ-like like that in my X-plane.

It's the RD object library. Definitely the closest to NZ that I've found. There's four different forest files that are really dense. Unfortunately in the second shot, it looks a bit too much like a pattern to me so I'm going to redo that area and blend it with one of the other .for files.

Thanks Marty. I'd like to be able to take artistic credit but it's really the sim.
