Yes, I always build my own Xmas playlist each year, finding different versions of songs, but there are a couple that stay the same -- Stevie Nicks with Silent Night, and Bob Segar's Little Drummer Boy:)

A long time ago I discovered this videoed recording session(the sound is very scratchy), and since I'm a big fan of Hollie Smith (and Annie Crummer), I went looking for the final recording. Couldn't buy it anywhere (it's a fund-raising Xmas CD from 2010.) I created a saved search on Trademe, and about two months ago got a notification that it was available, so I snapped it up. So this will be my 'O Holy Night' for a couple of years, I'm sure.

On these hot nights with the windows open, my neighbours must wonder about me...

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Well, Chums....

..as a non-religious, heathen, Iron-age sort of bloke, from the land of the Anglo-Saxon English...
....who only celebrates Xams as an excuse to get loads of Turkey and Vino down my neck...

My favourite Xmas Song...>>>

It's still early Sunday Morning (Xmas Eve) up here in the land of the Anglo-Saxons, so a while to go before I prepare the Parrot for slow roasting overnight!
All the Veg will be prepared now, for cooking on Xmas Day.

On Xmas Day the Parrot will be properly cooked, the veg will be nice and soft, and everything will be covered in my special Gravy!

...and I can open that big bottle of Irish Cream which has been seriously on my mind for the last few days... ....!

A merry Crimbo to all my Southern Hemisphere Chums! Its been loadsa fun chatting with you all, over the year!

...it's just the 12-hour time difference which sometimes confuses me!.... ...!

Have a wonderful Xmas day, everyone!..... :groupwave: ....!

Paul.... :D ....!

P.S...I'll catch you all again when my Xmas Morning arrives....tomorrow!..... ....1

Good job, Paul. I was tempted to try a roast myself, but really it's the wrong season for that here -- so seafood and salad for me.

Christmas day was weird, my kids were at their mother's this year, although I was invited I don't do Christmas with the ex. We get on great, and it has been 20 years since we separated, but I still don't fancy the idea of Christmas together....

So I settled down for some Christmas movies, first up The Sound of Music, this was the first time I've seen this in HD, so it was still an amazing experience even though I've seen it dozens of times. Then there were a couple of NZ movies on at the same time, I would've been happy to watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople, but it was up against Whale Rider on Maori Television. This is another movie where I know every line, but I couldn't imagine ever getting sick of it.

This morning I read in the news that one of the Von Trapp children (Heather Menzies-Urich) had died aged 68. Time does have a habit of zooming by...
