Cultivation experiments

Aerofly FS2 has an autogen feature called 'cultivation'. I've posted some info on this before, including Christchurch/Canterbury screenshots, but now I'm trying to work out what the limitations are. It isn't as easy as FSX autogen, as there's no 'annotator', so you can either hand-place buildings and trees, which would take eons, or use something which automates the process from data files. These shots show a test run of the LINZ vegetation areas ('native' and 'exotic'), plus windbreaks, and all the building footprints available. So we are talking about millions of objects, all crammed into one 'cultivation' file. This is basically a text file, but it is far too big to edit in anything.
Missing are individual trees, the sort of thing I'd hand-place in FSX. Not sure how to add these, but I do have a few ideas. Only two types of trees available, that would need to be overcome.

Looks really good...
The IPACS environment is fast-moving as I read it, and there will be ways to auto-everything eventually.
The data are just too big to treat manually.
I am thinking a HDD of "only" 2 TB is going to run out fast in AFS2!

EDIT: Time for a NZ repaint on that Cessna!

Rob , love the shots ...but once i saw " 'annotator" I knew I was out of my depth
I really ...really need to spend some time watching what you do ...we have been planning it for years .

I really hope you find you annotator , if you need help with the tree planting contact Shane Jones , hes all cashed up and ready to go.

Love your work.

Aside the details of Cultivation which are beyond me, those shots (like most AeroflyFs2 shots) have something making them really lifelike. While you can do similar in X-Plane and (with more effort) even in Prepar3d, the results just lack that little "something".
