Moggy power

I wonder at the power of nature sometimes.
One of my cats (Whitey) aka Pratt arrived home a few nights ago with a war wound on his face..... fur missing , swelling, not happy at all.
All he wanted to do was sleep, not a good sign ...but he was eating if I took food to him.

The problem was , it was friday night and the only vet was the after hours one ....$180.00 to turn up , plus any treatment.
I spoke to a nurse who told me to watch him overnight and if he was worse , bring him in ($180.00 plus treatment)

Didn't sleep much , thinking about the little guy.... anyway, woke up early and there here was on my chair asleep.
I checked his face .... the swelling had gone , but there was this awful mess (smelly) on his fur ..... the thing had burst

I thought maybe I should take down to the vet now , the wound was open and weeping blood and god knows what .... still after hours ($180.00 +)
My partner, who thinks more of the mogs than me :P decided to put some manuka honey on the wound and wait ...and she was right , it was a gamble that paid off.

He slept for the next 12 or so hours .... the redness faded along with the weeping and .... gag...the smell. A few more applications of the honey , and this morning he is better than before.
I hate the thought that I delayed any possible professional help on the grounds of cost ....and if it had gone real bad I would never forgive myself... but , times are tough at the moment.

But as it turned out , between my partner, the honey ...and the cats natural immune system, hes fine.

Just found out .... :o ..... the honey cost $84.00 !!

So, heres a plug for the honey ....its "Kare" brand 15+umf .... 500grm.
