AFS2 Monterey from ORBX

Postby emfrat » Wed Aug 08, 2018 5:29 pm

ORBX are having a sale, and they make stuff for AFS2, so I spent some pocketmoney on Monterey, Meiggs, and LOWI (Innsbruck). Here's a few from Monterey.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Nice... I don't have that Corsair in my hangar I note.
Tough to make pick of the sceneries, they are top rate.
I do spend a bit of time at Monterey because it is one more place to go in the hi-res AFS2 world of the western US.

Charl -
I got it with the v2.01.11.35 sim update for DVD folk. I thought you would already have it, via Steam.

There's more to come, but the pics looked very dark on the spare monitor, which I put on Superbeast so I could use the big Sammy on the AFS2 machine. Turned out it was just the viewing angle - when I stood up they looked fine.
(Previously I had the new flying machine talking Digital to the Sammy, and the FSX machine talking Analog, but it was very messy trying to use both machines at once. I don't want the new machine - it is running Win10 - going out on the 'Net at all. I had the update service disabled, but today something had changed that setting to Manual. Wasn't me, so I also stopped OneDrive from starting with Windows. We shall see...)

Turns out I do, but of course Steam doesn't announce anything... that and a nice Goodyear racer!

EDIT: Be good to see some Meigs. I passed that one up having flown it to death in FS4.
Did they add a bit of Chicago area?

We really are living in the golden age of simming. So many different things to choose from...

Yes, Charl, there is a modern CBD but not a lot of the outer suburbs. Meiggs itself is a real blast from the past, complete with ornamental gardens, the pier, the swimming pools - well worth AUD15, or slightly less.
