Some years are much worse than others and 2018 seems to be turning out to be a memorable one and for all the wrong reasons.
It started with a battle regarding my mothers mental and marital health....short story: marital split....reappearance of ex.....dementia...POA vs ex estate battle....no dementia (don't ask)....back to status quo.
My best mate calls to say that he wife has breast cancer. This is after having had a brain tumour which has left her in chronic pain that requires enough morphine a day to put down an elephant. She is undergoing chemo. My partners mum passes away in July and a few weeks later my best mate calls again to say that he has terminal cancer and has 5 to 8 months to live. Poor bugger even slipped on the deck on the way to the doctors and broke his wrist in 2 places. Doc said that they wouldn't do any surgery given his situation (that boosted his confidence no end). At least they get to go to chemo sessions together. Then on Thursday, less than 6 weeks after her mum passes away, her father decides it's time to check out (the day before a 2 week conference in Vancouver that she had been looking forward to and similar to a conference in Adelaide last year that she had to cancel when her mother was taken to hospital with congestive heart failure). He stated quite categorically that she was to go, and so go she did last night.
I know a few guys here are having some issues of their own to deal with so I just thought that I might share mine to show that you are not alone!
Still lets look on the bright side. Our world leader is a great guy........ considerate, inclusive, outward thinking and out to make the world "great again". Plus there is an abundance of very cheap money available at very cheap rates and no one bothers about your ability to pay it back.
What could possibly go wrong?
