That's shaping up to be one nice-looking sim! Using a heli to have a proper look at some of the scenery makes a lot of sense.
Actually, I can land it, now and then, I just can't take off...

Thanks for looking Rob .....I can lift off ....kind of hover.
But landing! mate, I need a good one square kilometer to aim at ...and no guarantee I'll even make that.
Decent is ok ....but when I slow down ...I start going backwards /sideways, just awful :( and that's in easy mode B-)

Lovely stuff, Marty.
Don't give up, you need to remember it's not a stable thing, so you need to adjust not only all motion axes, but collective and cyclic controls, all the time.

Far as I'm concerned that sim has now come of age - I can fly for the next year around all the available scenery, and also get my helifix.
Come the holidays I will get back into the Oculus Rift and see whether I can properly master Pro Mode.
It's what I have wanted since I started simming, in the last century!

Having a small helo in AF2 it is a true flight simulation for flights after work. The only thing I am really miss is a Logbook...

Don't feel too bad Marty, the transition back to the hover is actually one of the hardest things in the early stages to get in real life. Just go and fly a lot of circuits somewhere (60kts on the climb and decent and 75kts straight and level). The key is to start at the 60kt attitude and fly toward a point on the ground slowing down the entire time. Done right, you start on short finals at 60kts and end up in a 5ft hover at zero kts. Don't forget the secondary effects of the controls where when you raise the collective the nose will come up and you'll slow down so you need a touch of forward cyclic to maintain the SAME speed... of course you can use this as a tool to slow down.... Waiting for FS2 to go on sale again before purchasing.
