Nice and unusual bird: Max Holste MH 1521 "Broussard"

Postby hasegawa » Wed Jan 30, 2019 5:59 am

This aircraft is from the 50´s , a courier and transport aircraft of the French, used a lot. The last remaining examples are with french Aeroclubs for Parachutists...

It is a niche one, not elegant but efficient but the original was very loud. Was this aircraft in use in New Zealand?

There was one in Australia flying as a warbird in the mid-late 90s but I think it may be static somewhere.

Probably the only twin you can hand-start without leaving the cockpit

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Haha, nice one. Wonder how long it would take to do a round-the-world in one of these. You reckon w a virtual fuel bladder SOMEWHERE it would make it to Norfolk Island from Kerikeri?

I thought it was French for 'cricket' - not the game the Scots play the bagpipes instead of, but the flying, leppin' insects that occasionally get inside my house :o
