An offering

I've had this on continuous play since I discovered it this morning on Spotify.

Teeks and Hollie Smith.

Ten years ago, in the days of FM radio, I was sitting on my hospital bed, at a very low point in my life, and Hollie Smith came on the radio singing 'Bathe in the River.' The sound of her voice opened something up in me which really helped to pull me up from despair.
She's done it again at another time when things just seem too bleak to make sense of anything.

This CD was released today, it's a fundraiser project for the Salvation Army, and all artists have donated the proceeds. The CD features 12 gospel songs by NZ artists, including the Hollie Smith/Teeks version of Whakaaria Mai which I posted earlier. This song was released early, and was performed at a couple of the Christchurch Mosque memorial concerts.

There are also 12 artworks by NZ artists. I must admit I love NZ art, and music, my favourite possession is a framed limited edition print of the artwork for Hollie Smith's latest album:) I'd love one of the prints from this project, but can't really afford that sort of thing at the moment. (It took me 2 years to afford to get the Hollie Smith print framed.)
I also have a soft spot for the Sallies, even though I am not at all religious. They just get stuck in and help people, so I have no trouble supporting them when I can.
Not sure who stocks the CD, but you can get it from iTunes.
Here's the 'Offering Project' website.

"They just get stuck in and help people" and bless them for it ( salvation army)
So much lip service these days, which in my view amounts to nothing..... these people are on the ground, looking at the problems in the face.... just a shame mainstream media and government won't listen.
Will be interesting to see what the next "wellbeing" budget comes up with.

Sorry to politicize your post Rob....
